What did the detergent say to the dirty laundry? "I've got you covered!"

The City of Akron's Tumble Together Free Community Wash Day is BACK! Stop by the Super Clean Laundromat (1739 Brittain Rd.) on Thursday, August 20th between 11am-4pm to wash and dry up to three loads of laundry for FREE! This program is open to any City of Akron resident. 🫧

Today is the day! ❤️☀️

Hope in the Heat is happening TODAY from 1:00–3:00 PM, and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

This event simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible businesses, organizations, churches, community champions, and volunteers who stepped up to make today happen. Every donation, sponsorship, backpack, hygiene item, meal, haircut, smile, and hour of service represents a community that truly cares.

To every name on this board—and to everyone who gave behind the scenes—thank you for believing that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and hope. Your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of hundreds of our neighbors today.

It might take a few elevator trips… but that’s what happens when you’re preparing to serve 300 adults and 200 kids.

Today, our incredible volunteers are loading the truck, organizing supplies, packing backpacks, and making sure every detail is ready for tomorrow’s Hope in the Heat.

This photo is a reminder that big acts of kindness start with people willing to show up. Tomorrow, because of this amazing team, hundreds of our friends in need will receive a meal, essential supplies, school backpacks, and the reminder that their community cares.

☀️ Hope in the Heat is TOMORROW! ☀️

If you or someone you know could use a helping hand, join us tomorrow, Sunday, July 26, from 1:00–3:00 PM at 129 S. Union St., Akron.

We’ll have free resources and services available, including:
💙 Lunch
💙 Hygiene items
💙 Clothing
💙 Medical professionals on site
💙 Haircuts
💙 And much more!

🎒 Families: We also have backpacks filled with age-appropriate school supplies for children while supplies last, helping kids get ready for the upcoming school year.

Community is what makes hope possible. 💙

A huge thank you to Annie and the incredible team at Gavin Scott Salon & Spa for donating 300 bottles of shampoo for our upcoming Hope in the Heat event! This group is also cutting hair at the event along with salon friends from The Shoppe an Alea Michelle Salon and Spa! Businesses collaborating to help…. Makes our hearts warm!!!!

Because of partners like you, our friends experiencing homelessness and hardship will receive more than just essential items—they’ll receive dignity, compassion, and the reminder that their community cares.

We are so grateful for businesses that consistently step up and make a real difference. Thank you for helping us bring hope, one act of kindness at a time. ❤️

Community, we could use your help! ❤️

Akron Snow Angels partners with organizations all over our community to make sure our friends experiencing homelessness know where they can find food, shelter, medical care, clothing, and other vital resources.

One challenge we’re running into is the cost of printing informational flyers. We’d love to have enough copies to distribute throughout the year, but printing adds up quickly. $.50 a page. 😳

Does anyone know of a local print shop, business, church, library, or organization that might be willing to donate or sponsor copies for a nonprofit? Black-and-white is perfectly fine—we just want to get this important information into the hands of people who need it.

If you own a business, work somewhere that might be able to help, or have a connection, we’d be so grateful. Every flyer has the potential to connect someone with life-changing resources.

Can’t volunteer at Hope in the Heat on Sunday? We’d love your help from 9am-12noon on Saturday instead!

We’re getting everything organized and loaded for the big event, and we could use extra hands in the warehouse. Whether you can give an hour or a few, your help will make a huge difference in getting everything ready for the hundreds of people we’ll be serving.
