We are thrilled to share some incredible news—GAR Foundation has awarded a generous grant to support our Toddlers and Preschoolers Succeeding (TAPS) program in preschools and daycares throughout Akron!

The TAPS program helps Akron children each year get ready for kindergarten and lowers preschool expulsion rates. Created by Child Guidance & Family Solutions in 2008, TAPS responds to a vital community need by giving kids the tools they need to thrive in the classroom, build relationships, and become confident learners.

This program is a tremendous resource for young children, early childhood educators, and parents. Thanks to the GAR Foundation's incredible support, we can continue offering this essential program to our community at no cost.

Our hearts are full after this year's Growing Up Akron fundraiser! 💚

Because of your generosity, we raised over $53,000 to help provide vital mental health prevention, treatment, and advocacy services for children, teens and families throughout our community.

We would also like to extend a special congratulations and thank you to Barberton Community Foundation, recipient of our 2026 Friend of Children Award. Their long standing partnership and commitment to supporting children, families, and communities through prevention, early intervention, and mental health initiatives make a lasting impact throughout our region.
