Congratulations, Aleah! Aleah established a new bank account! Now, she can manage her budget, save for the future, and begin reestablishing credit. This is a huge accomplishment and we are SO PROUD of her!

We also celebrated Aleah's baptism on June 28, a special day in so many ways, as it was also the 28th anniversary of Dennis’ ordination.

We are so thankful to God for his extravagant love and mercy.

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 Here, Paul calls us to support one another with Christ-like love.

The Greek word for burden is baros, which means a heavy, crushing, or overwhelming weight; something too heavy for one person to carry alone.

We are not meant to carry life's heavy burdens alone.

In our Ministry, we help carry each other's burdens by:
- Being emotionally present.
- Sharing the load of extraordinary burdens.
- And, encouraging others while also holding them accountable.

CONGRATULATIONS, Jessica! Jessica earned her driver's license and bought a car!

With her job at Urbean Cafe, she has been able to save money toward the purchase of this adorable car. (We helped a little.)

Now, Jessica has greater independence and reliable transportation to and from work, church, appointments, and family visits.

We are so proud of Jessica's achievements at Lydia's Home in only 5 months.

At Lydia's Home, we strive to help our clients overcome past problems and destructive patterns, mentor them in discipleship, and help them overcome barriers to long-term success.

Congratulations, Jessica! You're doing great!

Have you met Kurt? Kurt Cox is a Chaplain and the director of the men’s Outreach & Mentoring program for our Ministry. He also conducts bible study and discipleship courses. In this video, Kurt shares his experiences of encouraging men in recovery and talking with them about Jesus.

Our wrap-around Restorative Justice approach includes mentoring, advocacy, and identity restoration. Having a trusted mentor helps restore a vital sense of personhood and helps people connect with the community in a new way.

A Barna Research study found that most former offenders who are mentored are unlikely to commit a crime in the future.

The Urbean Café has contributed more than $10 million in economic impact to Summit County, provided workforce development for more than 190 citizens, and saved Ohio taxpayers more than $6 million in direct costs since 2011.

Huge thanks to this year's Lydia's Home volunteer day helpers, including 30 youth group volunteers from Maranatha Bible Church, and another 10 hard-working helpers from FIVE39 Church. Together, we were able to w**d all the gardens and finish all the mulching. We could not do it without your willingness to come together on behalf of Lydia's Home. Thank you so much!
