A cooperative preschool recognizes that parents are primary educators of their young children. It lets you share your child’s first school experience and help your child take the first steps toward independence. Parents take turns volunteering in the classroom throughout the year (parent helper). By working with the teacher as parent helper, you will gain greater understanding of your own child an

d children of the same age. You will also have the opportunity to meet and create lasting bonds with your children’s friends and their families, one of the most cherished aspects of the co-op approach.
