Did you know? Over the last four decades, our footprint in Summit County has expanded far beyond single-family builds. Through the expansion of our ReStore, home repair programs, and neighborhood revitalization projects, we’ve been able to serve hundreds more families each year than when we first started. Decades of trust mean decades of expanding our mission—and we’re just getting started! 🏠✨

At our organization, living our mission goes far beyond the physical construction of homes. True community building requires a holistic approach—one that prioritizes safety, well-being, and strong partnerships.

We want to say a big thank you to Summit County Public Health for their continued support. Thanks to their help, we recently replenished our team’s safety kits, exchanging expired doses for fresh Narcan supplies across our main office and field work trucks.

Collaborating with organizations like SCPH ensures our team is equipped, informed, and prepared to look out for the broader community every single day. Building a stronger, safer Summit County is a collective effort, and we are grateful to work alongside partners who share that dedication.

✨ NEW TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Dana!

We are thrilled to welcome Dana Best-Mizsak to our team as our new Development Officer!

Dana brings a strong background in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and public history. In her new role, she will focus on building relationships with donors and community partners to help ensure Habitat continues making a lasting impact across Summit County.

✨ What "Building Community" means to Dana:
"Creating connections and making sure people feel that they belong... recognizing that everyone has something to contribute."

Dana is currently completing her MA in Applied History at the University of Akron and enjoys spending weekends with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Mozzarella!
