We are an affiliate agency of Job’s for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG), a state affiliate of Job’s for America's Graduates (JAG), headquartered in Washington D.C. JOG’s curriculum, instruction, Career Association and Service Learning activities emphasize the perfection of soft skills and are credited for graduates’ successful placement, retention and advancement in the workplace.

Today we're checking out the work our participants have done at Goodwill Outlet Store, Akron! With so many different tasks needing to be done behind the scenes, our participants pitch in however they are needed! Whether that's sorting donations for sale, organizing donations by department, cleaning up in the front and back of house, and so much more, these young adults are happy to work somewhere making a difference.

October is National Learning and Development Month, and we are excited to highlight different ways our participants and staff have been putting in the work. Whether it's developing work skills, learn more about what they are passionate about , or take a swing at something new, we are excited to showcase all of the great ways JOG is empowering learning and development this month! 💪 🎃

This past week, our WorkAdvance program welcomed a representative from the Mahoning Valley Manufacturing Coalition (MVMC)! Accompanied by our employer partner, Altronic LLC, and came in to provide insight into the career field, answer questions and work to bridge the gap for our participants while they learn all about manufacturing. A big "thank you" shout out to Youngstown State University for hosting us so we could bring this wonderful event to reality!

This year, a group of our JOG participants found real-world experience at Miller’s Party Rental, gaining hands-on skills and making a lasting impression along the way. Partnerships like this one sit at the heart of our Career Readiness and Attainment programming, giving students the chance to put what they’ve learned into practice in a real workplace. We love when our employer partners have ways to connect with young adults in and beyond their employment. That is exactly the kind of partner the Riverfront YMCA has been for our participants! While on the clock, participants working here keep the center's equipment clean and ready to use. Not only is this a great way to make sure all facilities are in good shape for patrons, but it also teaches participants to be thorough in project completions, responsibility, and timeliness!

Be like Rachael, whose drive to learn never slows down! We're so proud of her commitment to understanding the trades behind our YouthBuild program, which she played a big role in launching. She's even earned a large handful of certifications along the way!

Through the YouthBuild program, our participants gain hands-on training in construction and related trades, industry certifications, leadership skills, and real career pathways, all while helping revitalize and empower their communities.
