Thank you for stopping by my page, it is genuinely appreciated. I wrote a whole page for this section. Nite Owl Tarot - I'm a night shift type of person, my natural rhythms have always been nocturnal, even as a child. Under the moon is where I feel at home. My first experience with tarot reading was just over 20 years ago. My then daughter-in-law had a basic Smith-Rider-Waite deck, which I borrowe
d to do a reading for her. (I can feel some of you clutching your pearls at the thought of using someone else's deck.) No clue what I was doing, little booklet in hand, I predicted her surprise pregnancy and now that grandson is 22 yrs old. I didn't read again for about a decade, I returned to it as part of one or another mid-life crisis. I only read for myself and immediate family. It gave me comfort and helped me heal my life's wounds. It spoke to me. It was often spooky in its accuracy. It's only been since Covid set in that I've tried to take my reading to a professional level. Time will tell if I've succeeded or not. You may want to know that I take a secular approach to life and to reading tarot. I am, in fact, an atheist (there, I said it) and as such don't believe in any type of supernatural power either religious or fantastical. No God, no goddess, no angels, no guardians, no heaven, no hell, no Satan, no forces of evil, no magic, no witchcraft, no fairies, and certainly no pixies. (ugh, pixies. ikr!)
That is not to say that strange and wonderous things don't happen, we just don't have the knowledge to explain it yet. Myself and my cards do not contain nor use any divine power. I have no mystical gift of sight, no divine intuition, no magic. All I have is old fashion studying of the tarot card meanings and learning to combine them into a cohesive message. I don't read by intuition, I read by the cards and their meanings. So what is it that draws this skeptic to tarot? There is power that comes from tarot reading, both for reader and seeker. It's just a deck of cards, yet they remind us of who we are, what is important, and the importance of re-connecting with ourselves. They can warn us, help us to know ourselves better, make us aware that it is our own actions which affect our lives the most. They can also help us to see things in a new light, new perspectives, insight, affirmation and encouragement. To experience someone opening themselves up to new revelations, possibly for the first time - or first time in a long time - connecting with themselves in ways they never dreamed of- now THAT'S what I call magic.
