“I had a great time!! It was a highlight of my summer being around community.” 💙

That’s why this retreat matters.

The Wellness & Resilience Retreat was created to center Black trans men and transmasculine people in care, healing, rest, and community.

And we’re bringing it back this September.

Registration opens June 1.

Therapy is great. So is journaling, meditation, and all of it.

But can we talk about what mental health actually looks like for a lot of folx in our community?

It looks like showing up somewhere you know you won't have to explain yourself.
It looks like being around people who already get it — your humor, your history, your particular kind of tired.

It looks like not being alone with it for one afternoon.

Community isn't a consolation prize for people who can't afford therapy. For LGBTQ+ people — especially those of us who've had to fight for every space we occupy — being in community is protective. The research backs it up. So does lived experience.
Our doors are open. Come as you are.

Mental Health Awareness Month gets a lot of posts about therapy, hotlines, and self-care routines.

But for a lot of us? Nobody talked about any of that growing up.
You learned to be strong. To handle it. To not bring your business into the street — especially not that business. Feelings were something you pushed through, not something you processed.

That was survival. And it worked.

But survival and healing ain't the same thing. And there's no shame in figuring that out later than the wellness influencers did.

If you're just now finding language for what you've been carrying — you're not behind. You're right on time.

We see you. We’re here — with meals, resources, and open doors — because that’s what showing up actually looks like.
If you need us, you know where to find us.
🏳️‍⚧️ Happy to every trans person in Akron and beyond.

Double.
Bi+ adults report double the rate of depression compared to straight adults. And that number gets heavier the more marginalized identities you carry — your race, your gender, your zip code.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s what it costs to be invisible in spaces that were supposed to see you.
We see you. 💜
