This past Saturday, during Minority Health Month, we hosted our Breastfeeding Education Workshop in Akron! We had a great time connecting with both pregnant and postpartum moms in our community. The session was engaging, informative, and full of meaningful conversations around breastfeeding education and support. In addition to learning, we distributed basic needs items, including diapers, wipes, and nursing bras, to help support moms and their babies.

Project Milk Mission staff attended Womankind’s Spring Fling – Community Resource Fair in Garfield Heights this past Saturday.

We engaged with attendees through education and outreach, sharing information about our breastfeeding services and support programs for pregnant and postpartum moms.

Project Milk Mission attended the Youngstown Citywide Community Baby Shower this past Saturday, hosted by the Youngstown Minority Health Commission. We connected with pregnant and postpartum mothers, shared information about our services, and helped families get registered for upcoming breastfeeding classes, support groups, and our safe sleep class.
It was a great event with many moms in attendance, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support families in the community.

Project Milk Mission hosted our Mom’s Wellness Event: Brushstrokes & Safe Sleep at MidPointe Library in Middletown! We had a great time connecting with moms, sharing safe sleep education, and creating space to relax and unwind through a guided painting session. Project Milk Mission had a great time this past Saturday at the Community Baby Shower at the Sonny Hill Community Center in Middletown! We connected with many pregnant and postpartum moms, shared information about our breastfeeding program, and helped moms get registered for our upcoming breastfeeding classes and support groups.

We will be hosting a special virtual event on April 15th from 12:00–1:30 PM, featuring guest speakers and a safe space to learn more about perinatal mental health, evidence-based care, and the power of peer support. Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support healthier outcomes for mothers and babies.

We had a great time this past Saturday at our Akron Breastfeeding Education Workshop in celebration of Minority Health Month. We connected with pregnant and postpartum mothers who were engaged, connected with one another, and shared their experiences. We discussed the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mom and baby—an important focus during Minority Health Month as we continue to promote health equity and improved outcomes. During the workshop, we also provided education on latching and positioning, milk supply, returning to work, and breastfeeding rights. We also provided basic need items for attendees, including diapers, wipes, breastfeeding supplies, and nursing bras.

Creating a space where moms can learn, connect, and support each other is what it’s all about!
