Brenda’s Angels Announces Resolution and Conclusion of Its Mission
Aiken County, SC — February 21,2026 — Brenda’s Angels, a pancreatic cancer–focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2009, announces the formal resolution and conclusion of its operations after years of dedicated service to patients and families affected by pancreatic cancer.
Brenda’s Angels was established with a desire to make a meaningful difference by providing well-being and financial support to pancreatic cancer patients, helping to fund research, and promoting education and awareness surrounding the disease. From its founding through the conclusion of its mission, the organization remained deeply committed to ensuring that all funds raised stayed local to Aiken County, directly supporting patients and families diagnosed with pancreatic cancer within the community.
The organization was named in honor of Brenda Bodie, who lost her life to pancreatic cancer. Brenda was the beloved best friend of co-founder Marie Durrett, and her courage, strength, and memory served as the inspiration behind the mission of Brenda’s Angels. What began as a tribute to Brenda’s life grew into a community-driven effort to support others facing the same devastating diagnosis.
Throughout its years of service, Brenda’s Angels worked tirelessly to ensure that individuals and families confronting pancreatic cancer were not alone—offering compassion, financial relief, and advocacy during one of life’s most difficult journeys. These efforts were made possible through the generosity of donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who believed in the organization’s mission.
“This decision was not made lightly,” the Board of Directors shared. “Brenda’s Angels was founded with heart and purpose, and we are incredibly proud of the impact made for patients and families in Aiken County.”
As part of the resolution process, Brenda’s Angels has ensured that all remaining obligations have been addressed responsibly and in accordance with nonprofit and regulatory requirements, honoring the trust placed in the organization as a 501(c)(3).
While Brenda’s Angels will no longer operate, its legacy lives on through the lives touched, the support provided, and the awareness raised for pancreatic cancer. The organization leaves behind a lasting record of service rooted in compassion, integrity, and community commitment.
Brenda’s Angels extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the mission over the years. Your generosity and belief made this work possible and meaningful
