Lovely story

After the school dismissal bell rang, Jon Camden (right) and I would race up into the organ loft to practice on the Steiner pipe organ at Immaculate Conception Church, now St. James Parish, in Washington, PA. At age 11 (in this photo) we found it beneficial to coordinate our efforts: I'd play the keyboards and Jon the pedals, trying here to work out by ear Gordon Young's "Prelude in Classic Style." Jon pursued a life in science and is now a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. Happily, he still plays the organ!
