The Royal Aikenites was founded in 1928, when African American Aikenites joined together monthly to discuss contemporary issues and current events.

-History-

The Royal Aikenites was founded in 1928. The original idea or mission of the organization was for African American Aikenites to meet monthly and discuss contemporary issues and current events over dinner at each other's residence (as there was actually no place for African American leaders to gather strictly for social purposes). The organization and their activities have evolved over the years to include "The Royal Aikenites Scholarship Gala”,
which provides funding for the college students.

🎓 Investing in the Future of Aiken County

Last night, we hosted our Scholarship Banquet at the Aiken Center for the Arts, celebrating nine outstanding students from across Aiken County.

We awarded nine scholarships—one to a deserving student from each Aiken County Public School District high school. Pictured are eight of the nine scholarship recipients (one recipient was unable to attend), joined by members of the Royal Aikenites.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients! Your hard work and dedication have earned this well-deserved recognition, and we can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish.
