Honduras Agape Foundation

Honduras Agape Foundation The Honduras Agape Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to sharing God's love and supporting our sisters and brothers in Honduras.

Our goal is to manifest the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Honduras by partnering with the local community members to provide medical and health care and educational support, construction of homes and other community facilities, and care for the children. HAF will also encourage and support the outreach of the local Christian believers within their communities.

A lot of the posts on here focus on the many construction projects HAF completes, but this time I wanted to spotlight some of the evangelism and genuine nurturing that Maynor and his team do for the youth there. The following is from Maynor's latest report:

*We started a barbering class with five young men from Tejeras. It has been difficult for me to find young people from Tejeras for this training; I think they have self-esteem issues, they believe will be difficult for them to learn. I hope we can make it work.

*Last week, Dr. Constantino gave a talk to 25 young Tejeas teenagers in about pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

*We bought 24 Bibles for the teenagers of Tejeras.

*We celebrated birthdays for 3 AP children: Jafet Cruz , Gisel Castillo and Angeles Barahona

Maynor shared the following completed construction project:

With the allocated budget, we were able to install ceilings in five classrooms.
This greatly improves the appearance of the classrooms and, most importantly, helps lower the temperature inside them. The classrooms are now ready for air conditioning units to be installed

MT-1 Wrap up and Travel home
While Dan, Kathy and Jackie traveled from the States - Ricardo (our driver), Maynor (the HAF Administrator), Nancy (Maynor's assistant and studying Industrial Engineering), and Floura (our translator) - filled out the Mission Team.

While we return to the States, the work at Tranquilidad Foundation and Honduras Agape Foundation continues. The presence of our Lord and love that was shared with us, truly touched our hearts.

We take away the reminder, that our everyday possessions bring us no closer to God. The Kindness of the children who share their food, the Gracious Welcome from teachers and parents, and the Love of foster parents who treat 'wards of the state' just as they do their own children....these are heavenly things.
