Following the tremendous success of Mission One, CSRA Honor Flight is staying busy in our communities! We have several exciting events coming up, and we would love to see our veterans, guardians, volunteers, supporters, and friends come out and join us!

Presented by the Special Forces Foundation, this is not an official CSRA Honor Flight event, but several members of our team plan to attend, proudly wearing their Honor Flight apparel. If you see us, please stop and say hello!

☕ VETERANS COFFEE CLUB – AIKEN

📍 Aiken Senior Life Services, East Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC

This will be a particularly special gathering! Several of our Mission One alumni will share their personal experiences from our September 12 Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Come hear firsthand what this extraordinary journey meant to the veterans who experienced it!

📍 Columbia Convention Center, Columbia, SC

🎤 At 1:00 PM, our Board President, Michael Jara, will address the convention and share the story of CSRA Honor Flight.

🎖️ AIKEN COMMUNITY VETERANS DAY PARADE

📍 Park Avenue, Aiken, SC

🕙 Parade lineup begins at 10:00 AM.

This is a historic occasion—Aiken's first Veterans Day Parade, coordinated by the Aiken County Veterans Council!

CSRA Honor Flight will proudly participate with our own float, and we are inviting our Mission One alumni to ride with us!

What a wonderful opportunity for our community to recognize and celebrate these veterans and thank them for their service.

Mission One may be behind us, but our commitment to honoring America's veterans is stronger than ever.

We are already preparing for Mission Two, scheduled for May 5, 2027, and events like these help us share our mission, strengthen our community partnerships, and reach more veterans who deserve the Honor Flight experience.

Beam's Contracting has generously donated $2,500 to help us begin funding CSRA Honor Flight Mission Two, scheduled for May 5, 2027!

After the incredible success of Mission One, we are already hard at work preparing to give another group of deserving veterans the Honor Flight experience they have earned. Generous community partners like Beam's Contracting make that possible.

🇺🇸 WHEN A SIMPLE LETTER BECOMES SOMETHING MUCH MORE… 🇺🇸

Before CSRA Honor Flight Mission One, the Lower School students at Mead Hall Episcopal School did something very special—they wrote personal letters to our veterans, thanking them for their service and letting them know they were remembered.

One of our Mission One veterans, Mr. Stanley Kliebenstein of Aiken, received some of those letters, and they touched him deeply.

Mr. Kliebenstein was so moved by the students’ kindness that he decided he wanted to thank them personally. He created Certificates of Appreciation for the students and presented Mead Hall with a beautiful handcrafted wooden American flag as an expression of his gratitude.

But the story gets even better.

Some of the students had written to Mr. Kliebenstein that they hoped they might someday have the opportunity to meet him in person.

One of those students, got his wish!

This student had the opportunity to meet Mr. Kliebenstein personally, and Mr. Kliebenstein presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a letter expressing just how much it meant to be remembered in such a thoughtful and special way.

This is what CSRA Honor Flight is all about.

It is certainly about taking our veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials built in their honor—but it is also about connecting generations, sharing stories, teaching our young people about service and sacrifice, and making sure our veterans know that they have not been forgotten.

To the students, teachers, and staff of Mead Hall Episcopal School Lower School—THANK YOU.

You may have thought you were simply writing letters.

To our veterans, those letters meant much, much more. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

And to Mr. Kliebenstein, thank you for showing these young students that their kindness mattered. What a wonderful example of one generation reaching out to another—and receiving something very special in return.

This is Honor Flight. This is community. This is remembrance.

🇺🇸 A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO THE PARRIS ISLAND MARINE BAND! 🇺🇸

CSRA Honor Flight extends our heartfelt thanks to the Parris Island Marine Band for their outstanding performance at our Mission One Homecoming Celebration at Columbia Metropolitan Airport!

From the moment they began playing, their professionalism, precision, and incredible talent helped create exactly the kind of patriotic atmosphere we wanted for this very special evening.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for us! A significant flight delay meant that the band could not remain until our 33 veterans arrived. While we were disappointed that our veterans did not get to experience their performance firsthand, we want everyone to know just how honored we were to have the Parris Island Marine Band as part of our celebration.

Their presence was a powerful tribute to the men and women we were bringing home that evening.

To the Marines who performed for us: Thank you. Thank you for your time, your professionalism, your beautiful music, and for helping us honor our veterans in such a memorable way.

Having the Parris Island Marine Band perform at our very first CSRA Honor Flight Homecoming Celebration was truly an honor and something we will always remember.
