Our Caring for Kupuna work day turned out great! They expressed such deep gratitude for these young keiki, but actually it was truly our pleasure being able to serve THEM! We look forward to doing these more often for sure! If you know of someone who could use a helping hand(s) or have a group who would love to serve in this way, give us a shout!

Yesterday was AMAZING! Our very own Hawaii High School Judo Team, which is made up of some of the best judoka Hawaii has to offer, came out to support the City Botanical Garden's effort to help supply lei used to honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day. In addition to their lei making, we were able to arrange a very special guest speaker, Mr Roy Fujiwara, to share stories about life as a Japanese American before, during, and after WWII, as well as his first hand accounts as a well decorated member of the prestigious 442nd Infantry 100th Battalion. Uncle Roy is undoubtably a treasure to our nation and our state, and his spry 100 year young mind, body and spirit communicated perfectly how it is truly OUR honor to recognize those who sacrificed so much for generations to come. Recognizing how fortunate we are, enables the adoption of attitudes of gratitude, which in turn nurtures better communities. ALOHA & MAHALO

This is the Hawaii High School Judo Team and they will be traveling to Japan this summer to compete in the Kinshuki National HS Tournament amongst some of Japan’s best. They came out today to do an ECOS project that supports our beloved National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on Memorial Day. It was a pleasure having them and wish them all the best in Japan this summer!

Our beautiful home ranks 45th of 50 states when it comes to volunteerism. Does this shock/sadden you? For us, it motivates and inspires us to do more! What does ECOS do? Foundationally, we teach our keiki how to be citizens for the future. Improving lives of the community for all.
