It is with saddened hearts that we learned of the passing of Mrs. Pat.

Although our relationship began with simple phone calls, Mrs. Pat welcomed Called to Be a Blessing, Inc. with open arms and opened the doors of Gates Public Library to host our new Sock & Underwear Drive. Her kindness, willingness to serve, and commitment to her community made a lasting impact that far exceeded the time we knew her.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Mrs. Pat. Her support and encouragement helped further our mission, and for that we will always be thankful.

Her passing is a tremendous loss on this side of heaven, but Heaven has surely gained a faithful servant.

Please join us in keeping Mrs. Pat’s family, friends, coworkers, and all who loved her in your prayers during this difficult time.

At Called To Be a Blessing, Inc., we believe community impact is not measured by likes, shares, or photo opportunities. It is measured by lives touched, needs met, and relationships built.

Serving foster youth and families means showing up consistently, listening intentionally, and being present long after the cameras are gone. Whether it’s providing clothing, toys, essential items, resources, or simply encouragement, our mission has always been bigger than visibility. It’s about making a lasting difference.

I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, but the truth is, we’re just getting started.

There is still work to do. There are still young people who need support. There are still opportunities to be a blessing.

Right now, I’m going to be transparent…

As the founder of Called To Be A Blessing, Inc., I’m in a season where I’ve had to pause and ask myself, “What am I doing?” — not from a place of doubt, but from navigating a very real and emotional transition.

My stepfather, Calvin Jordan, is in the process of being laid to rest, and my focus in this moment is on family, love, and honoring his life well.

I want to acknowledge those of you who have donated, partnered, and supported this mission. Because of you, Called To Be A Blessing exists and continues to impact lives. That does not go unnoticed.

At this time, I ask for your patience and grace. There are donations that need to be picked up, and prayerfully, I will be able to resume that process by the end of this month.

This is one of those moments where purpose meets real life — and I’m learning that it’s okay to slow down when life calls you to.
