8th Annual Foster Youth Christmas Wishlist
11 YOUTH - 2 GIRLS, 9 BOYS

This Christmas, we have an opportunity to remind young people in foster care that their community sees them, supports them, and believes they are worthy of being remembered.

DSS has provided the following age-group information while individual wishlists are being finalized.

AGES 0–5
3 youth - 1 girl, 2 boys

AGES 10–17
5 youth - 1 girl, 4 boys

AGE 18
3 youth - all boys

Please bring NEW, UNWRAPPED items during our regular hours. Whether you purchase one item, a stocking stuffer, a gift card, or an entire Christmas gift, your generosity helps make Christmas a little brighter for a young person in foster care.

COMMUNITY NEEDS COMMUNITY. 💙💛

Today, Called To Be A Blessing, Inc. wants to pause and say THANK YOU.

A very special thank you to Roanoke Valley Insurance in Ahoskie and De-Vinity Massage for continuing to open your doors and serve as drop-off locations for our clothing donations and Trash Bag to Dignity initiative.

Yesterday, I stopped by both locations, and when I tell you I filled the back of my truck… I mean, the community showed UP! 🙌🏾

These businesses have done more than simply accept donations. They have made space for our mission. They have welcomed the community, collected items, shared our vision, and helped us continue creating opportunities to Connect. Transform. Build. And Bless.

And to every person who has:

But I truly believe we are standing on the brink of something great.

And my prayer is not simply that we grow.

I want us to maintain.
I want us to sustain.
And I want us to EXPAND.

Because the goal isn’t just to have a moment of impact.

The goal is to build something that can continue serving our communities for years to come.

And we cannot do that alone.

Community partners are the heartbeat of this work. 🤝🏾

Today reminded me why I said YES to this calling.

As the Founder of Called To Be A Blessing, Inc. (CTBB), I had the privilege of delivering wagon-filled donations to Hertford County DSS and Bertie County DSS, along with an additional smaller donation.

I paused for a moment and reflected on what those donations represented. This work has taught me that community impact is about building bridges between people, organizations, businesses, and resources. Through the generous support of Walmart, CTBB was entrusted with resources that we were able to redistribute to organizations serving families and children in our communities.

That is more than a donation.

That is partnership.
That is stewardship.
That is community.

As a founder, I don’t take that responsibility lightly. When someone entrusts your organization with resources, you have an obligation to be intentional about where those resources go and who they can impact. This is the heart of CTBB:

CONNECT people to resources.
TRANSFORM lives through service.
BUILD stronger communities.
BLESS others with what we have been entrusted with.

Today’s deliveries were a reminder that sometimes the greatest impact happens when we simply connect what someone has with someone who needs it. I am grateful to Walmart for its generosity. Grateful to Hertford County DSS and Bertie County DSS for the work they continue to do within our communities.

Community needs community.

When businesses give, nonprofits connect, agencies serve, and communities collaborate, we create a stronger ecosystem of support.

We are all called to be a blessing.

🎄💙 This is what community looks like.

There is something special about watching an idea turn into something people can actually participate in.

Our Called To Be A Blessing, Inc. Foster Youth Christmas Wishlist now has three community drop-off locations: Hertford County Library, Ahoskie Public Library, and Elizabeth S. Parker Memorial Library in Murfreesboro.

I’m genuinely grateful for each library that opened its doors and said, “We’ll help.”

Because this is more than collecting Christmas gifts. It’s about reminding children and teens in foster care that their community sees them, remembers them, and cares about them.

The wishlist includes youth from newborns through teenagers, because every age deserves to experience the joy of Christmas. 🎁

And here’s the part I hope we don’t overlook:

You don’t have to be wealthy to make an impact. You just have to be willing to participate.

Buy one item.
Grab something while you’re shopping.

Tell a friend.
Drop off a new, unwrapped gift.

Small acts of generosity can become something much bigger when an entire community decides to show up.
