We asked where the locals eat and were guided to this family ristorante up in the hills of Umbria. This one family (starting with the nonna on the left) has been making homemade pasta in an old hunting lodge for the past 35 years. It was an incredible experience to feel like part of the family. And to have the privilege of eating the delicious food they lovingly create and for which they have so much pride. In our American culture of progress, competition and instant gratification, we often lose sight of the beauty that comes with tradition and simplicity. Italy keeps reminding me of what truly matters.

C O O L ⚡️
We spend so much time trying to be “cool.” Thank you Instagram, Pinterest and the like for helping us spend hours trying to curate the coolest, most enviable style, homes, vacations, lives. With all this searching and striving, we start believing that by being cool, we are in control. And if we are in control enough, we can’t be hurt, embarrassed or ignored. But in this pursuit of always cool and always in control, we’ve forgotten how to just be. How to let ourselves loose and let ourselves fall blissfully in to the real and the raw. If we are too afraid to make a mistake or to put ourselves out there, we won’t allow ourselves to be moved to dance, to sing out loud and to laugh freely and often. In tomorrow night’s women’s circle, we will talk about letting go...of control, of cool, of all the things that get in the way of our humanity, our creativity and our freedom.

There are so many should’s plaguing us. A daily list of have to’s and supposed to’s filling up our lives and silencing our dreams. In tomorrow night’s circle we will explore how our self doubt and addiction to “supposed to” stifle our progress and keep us anchored to dead-end jobs, relationships that are not thriving and self images that are inauthentic.

C A L M 🙏🏼
In a world of chaos, it’s hard to stay calm. And it’s almost as if we’ve become addicted to anxiety as a way of life. We trick ourselves in to thinking that anxiety makes us productive and moved us forward. But the reality is that it paralyzes us. We lose sight of calm and can’t tolerate stillness. Tonight in our women’s circle we will practice both and give ourselves permission to let go of anxiety.
