Newport Village is beautiful gated neighborhood located on Monkey Island at Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma. The Cape Cod homes line the eastern shoreline of Monkey Island, overlooking one of the largest sections of the lake, with views of Sailboat Bridge at night. The neighborhood includes ponds, tennis courts, a park, volleyball, docks and more, all maintained by a full time caretaker and staff.

Newport had a major wind storm at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. It really looks like a mini-tornado went through. There was significant tree damage. Two docks were damaged. Dock E was driven back into the cove about 20 feet. Dock F was also driven back about 20 feet but sustained greater damage because it is partially driven aground. Repairs on it will be much more substantial. The picture of the seadoos is at the end of Dock F. Two homes sustained damage. In the pictures the home with the tree on the roof is the Ehrlich home. Keeton's home also sustained damage as big trees came down both in front and back of their house. Tree damage was as far to the north as the big tree in Wayland's front yard.

Clean up has started on trees. The dock contractor was here Saturday afternoon starting to work and is working today.
