“Come paint with me in the beautiful surroundings of Grand Teton National Park!
This workshop will start out on a Monday morning in the National Museum of Wildlife Art, with an intensive informational lecture and accompanying visuals to set the groundwork of skill development for the rest of the week.
After the morning presentation, we will go out to a pre-selected location in Grand Teton National Park where participants can eat lunch and then set up to paint one or two field studies that afternoon. I will be stopping at each artist’s easel on multiple occasions throughout the afternoon to help with specific needs. Scene selection based on solid design possibilities will be stressed.
On each succeeding day I will do a demonstration, either in the morning or afternoon, so the class members will have a chance to paint in different lighting situations throughout the week. There will also be one painting session that day where I demonstrate a 1/2 hour study, then the class will each do one of these as a group, during a timed drill. This speed drill will help with loosening up your brushwork and freeing you up to be more spontaneous, but in a controlled manner.
I look forward to working with each class member during this incredible art journey in the Tetons this fall!”
