The Captain Jim Cova Foundation was founded in honor of our fallen hero, Captain Jim Cova of the Affton Fire Protection District.

The foundation aims to help fund scholarships to the St. Louis County Fire Academy, as well as donations to Animal Rescues.

Making a Difference, One Paw at a Time! 🐾❤️

The Captain Jim Cova Foundation is proud to donate $1,500 to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) to support the incredible work they do for animals in our community! 🐶🐱

Our mission, along with providing scholarships to St. Louis County Fire Academy students, is to support local animal rescues and help make a difference in the lives of animals who need it most. We’re honored to support organizations like APA that work tirelessly to provide care, compassion, and second chances to animals in need.

Every donation makes a difference, and we are so happy that we can help create a brighter future for our four-legged friends! 🐾❤️

Today, we honor the first responders who ran toward danger on September 11, 2001, the innocent people who just went to work that day, the passengers of the planes, and the families forever changed by their sacrifice.

We remember their courage, their service, and the lives they gave protecting others.

The sacrifice of so many first responders, reminds us why we remember, we honor, and we never forget. 🇺🇸

As we reflect on this year's Captain Jim Cova Foundation Bags Tournament, our hearts are simply full.

When we started this foundation, our goal was to honor Jim's legacy by helping others the way he always did. Because of this incredible community, that mission continues to grow in ways we never imagined.

Thank you to everyone who registered a team, purchased an attendance ticket, bought raffle tickets, bid in our silent auction, took a chance on the 50/50, volunteered, donated, or sponsored our event. Every single act of generosity made a difference.

Because of you, this one event raised enough funding to provide another year of scholarships for self-sponsored recruits attending the St. Louis County Fire Academy while continuing our support of local animal rescue programs.

People often say, "It takes a village," and they couldn't be more right. The impact we're able to make simply would not be possible without this incredible community standing beside us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for continuing to remember Jim—not just for the firefighter and Captain he was, but for the husband, father, friend, and person he was. Every scholarship awarded, every recruit given an opportunity, and every animal helped is another chapter in the legacy he left behind.

Thank you for believing in our mission, for carrying Jim's legacy forward, and for helping ensure it continues to inspire, serve, and make a difference for years to come. ❤️

We are proud to announce Nicholas Deckard, a graduate of Class 128 of the St. Louis County Fire Academy, Inc., as the recipient of our fourth Captain Jim Cova Foundation scholarship.

Each scholarship awarded is another opportunity to honor Captain Jim Cova by investing in the future of the fire service. Supporting those who have chosen a life of service was something that meant so much to Jim, and it is a privilege to continue that commitment through the Foundation.

Nicholas' application reflected the character and dedication that Jim valued throughout his career… selfless service, integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to serving others. We are honored to recognize him as Class 128’s scholarship recipient.

Congratulations, Nicholas, and congratulations to the entire Class 128. We wish you all long, safe, and rewarding careers in the fire service. We know Jim would be proud.

What an incredible evening on Saturday at the 2nd Annual Captain Jim Cova Foundation Bags Tournament!

To everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, played, bid, bought raffle tickets, or simply came out to support us—thank you.

Because of you, we had a packed house, plenty of laughs, great competition, an exciting 50/50, amazing raffles, and incredible silent auction items. The overwhelming support was truly humbling.

Most importantly, your generosity means 100% of the proceeds will go directly back into our community by providing scholarships for self-sponsored recruits attending the St. Louis County Fire Academy and supporting local animal rescue programs.

As Jim's family, there are no words to express what it means to see so many people continue to show up in his honor. Your support keeps his legacy of service, compassion, and giving back alive, and for that, we are forever grateful.

Thank you for helping us make the 2nd Annual Captain Jim Cova Foundation Bags Tournament our biggest success yet. We can't wait to see you again next year! ❤️

Today marks two years since we lost Captain Jim Cova.

There are no words to truly capture the impact Jimmy had on the lives of so many. He was a leader, a mentor, a friend, a firefighter, a captain, and most importantly, an incredible husband and father.

While we miss him every day, we are honored to continue carrying forward the values he lived by… service, compassion, and helping others.

Through the Captain Jim Cova Foundation, his legacy continues through future firefighters and the communities he cared so deeply about.

Today, we remember the man behind the badge, the heart behind the uniform, and the legacy that continues to grow.

Forever honored. Forever loved. Forever missed. ❤️
