🎒🍦 Don’t forget to get your registration forms turned in! 🍦🎒

The deadline to register for the Aeneas Valley Community Foundation Back to School Program is Monday, August 3.

📝 Registration forms are available at AVCS, so be sure to stop by and pick one up if you haven’t already!

All Aeneas Valley children who are school age are eligible to participate and receive a free backpack and/or school supplies.

Younger siblings are welcome to join us too! We’ll have crafts, free ice cream, and plenty of fun for everyone.

We’re especially excited about one of this year’s crafts! 🌼 Kids will get to paint their own flower pot and plant a flower to take home. A huge thank you to our wonderful neighbors at Baker’s Acres for generously donating the flowers for this project. We truly appreciate your support of our valley kids! ❤️

Join us for the Back to School Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Important Update from Aeneas Valley Community Foundation

After careful consideration, the Aeneas Valley Community Foundation Easter event will be canceled this year.

AVCF events are organized and run by three board members and our families, and they rely heavily on volunteers from the community to make them possible. Despite reaching out and asking for help, we simply did not receive enough volunteers to safely run an event of this size.

I want to be transparent about something important. The majority of our events — including Easter, our Back to School Ice Cream Social, Trunk or Treat, and our Christmas event that provides free winter gear — are created specifically for local children and families. Because of that, we especially hope to see parents step forward to help make these events possible.

This year, only one parent volunteered to help with the Easter event. Unfortunately, that is simply not enough support to run something that takes weeks of planning and many hands the day of the event.

Over the years, AVCF has worked hard to provide free community events for local families, including Easter activities, the Back to School Ice Cream Social, Trunk or Treat, and Christmas events that provide winter gear for children in our valley.

Without volunteers, these events simply cannot happen.

Community events only exist when the community participates, and right now that participation just isn’t there. These events absolutely can continue in the future, but only if more parents and community members are willing to step forward and help make them happen.

Because of this, the board will also be taking time to reevaluate the long-term viability of the Aeneas Valley Community Foundation, which operates entirely on donations and volunteer support.

If the community would like to see these events continue in the future, it will take more people stepping forward to help carry the workload.

🐰🌷 Help Us Save Our Valley Easter Event! 🌷🐰

Our Annual Valley Easter Event is coming up, and this year we need your help more than ever.

Two of our three board members who normally organize and host the event will be out of the valley on Easter weekend. Because of that, we are looking for volunteers to help make this event possible for our kids.

Even 1–2 hours of your time would make a huge difference. If we do not have enough volunteers, we may unfortunately have to cancel the event this year, which would be heartbreaking for the kids who look forward to it.

For those who may not know, our Valley Kids events are organized and run by three board members along with their families and close friends who volunteer their time each year. Each year we host:

🥚 Easter Egg Stuffing Party

🌸 Easter Event

🍦 Back-to-School Ice Cream Social

🎃 Trunk-or-Treat

🎁 Christmas Wrapping Party

🎄 Valley Kids Christmas

Through the Christmas program alone, we provide winter gear and Santa gifts for around 75 children, which costs approximately $10,000–$12,000 each year.

To help keep these programs sustainable, we will also be introducing a community volunteer requirement for families who participate in the Valley Kids Christmas program.
Parents will be asked to contribute 2 volunteer hours per year at any Valley Kids event for their child to participate in the Christmas program. Volunteer hours will be logged under the child’s name.

We will also count fundraising efforts (such as bake sales where 100% of proceeds are donated to the foundation) toward those hours, fundraisers & donations are how we fund these events.

These events exist because three board members, along with their families and close friends, care deeply about the kids in our valley and volunteer their time to make these events happen each year. With a little help from the community, we can continue these traditions for many years to come.

Current Volunteer Needs

We only need a few people to step up in the following spots:

• 1 Easter Bunny
• 2 Cake Walk Helpers
• 3 Game Station Helpers
• 4 Setup Helpers
• 4 Teardown Helpers

Donations Needed

• Fresh baked goods for the Cake Walk
• Straw bales and a tarp for the Easter Hay Hunt
• Donations of candy

If 10–12 people volunteer for just an hour or two, this event can happen and the kids will have a wonderful day.

A huge thank you to all of the beautiful ladies ( plus our behind the scenes hubbies) for all of their hard work and time to organize & wrap gifts for our Valley Kids!

We would also like to thank Aeneas Valley Community Church for providing the space for all if this to happen the past two days 🫶
