❤️ We need our community.

Five days ago we asked for volunteers for our upcoming Trunk or Treat, and so far we’ve had one response.

The Aeneas Valley Community Foundation loves putting on free events for our community and our kids, but a small handful of people cannot do it alone.

We are not asking anyone to take on the whole event. We just need people willing to help with one piece of it.

🎃 Decorate a car and hand out candy
🎂 Bake something for the cake walk
🎯 Help run a game
🧹 Help with setup or cleanup

Even one small job makes a big difference.

If we want to keep having fun, free events in our valley, we need our community to help make them happen.

📚 BACK-TO-SCHOOL PHYSICALS RIGHT HERE IN AENEAS VALLEY! 🩺🎒

Family Health Centers will be bringing their mobile health units to Aeneas Valley this Saturday, August 29th, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM!

They are especially hoping to see local kids who need wellness exams or back-to-school physicals before the new school year gets underway. What a great opportunity to get this taken care of without having to make the drive into town!

They’ll also be offering:
• Dental services
• Health screenings & education
• Behavioral health services
• Enrollment assistance
• Help connecting with resources and social services

🎒🍦 What a wonderful Back to School Ice Cream Social! 🌸📚

We had such a great afternoon celebrating the kids of Aeneas Valley and helping them get ready for a brand new school year. Seeing the kids pick out their backpacks, create their own projects, paint flower pots, plant flowers, eat ice cream and just enjoy being together made all the work that goes into this event completely worth it. ❤️

A huge thank you to Aeneas Valley Community Church, Pastor Chris and Chelsea for opening the church to us, helping us get everything set up, participating in the event and making us feel so welcome. We truly appreciate having such wonderful community partners.

🌸 A very special thank you to Bakers Acres for donating all of the beautiful flowers for our kids! Each child was able to decorate their own flower pot and then choose a flower to plant in it and take home. It was an absolute hit and such a fun addition to this year’s event.

🎨 Thank you so much to Jody for volunteering her time to help the kids with all of their crafts. Having an extra set of hands and someone willing to jump right in with the kids made such a difference.

🎒 And to every single person who donated backpacks, school supplies or helped support this program, THANK YOU. Your generosity is what allows the Aeneas Valley Community Foundation to continue doing things like this for the children and families in our valley.

And finally, thank you to all of the parents and families who brought their kids and spent the afternoon with us. You are what made the day so much fun.

It really does take a community, and yesterday was a pretty wonderful reminder of just how special ours is. ❤️

🎒🍦 Don’t forget to get your registration forms turned in! 🍦🎒

The deadline to register for the Aeneas Valley Community Foundation Back to School Program is Monday, August 3.

📝 Registration forms are available at AVCS, so be sure to stop by and pick one up if you haven’t already!

All Aeneas Valley children who are school age are eligible to participate and receive a free backpack and/or school supplies.

Younger siblings are welcome to join us too! We’ll have crafts, free ice cream, and plenty of fun for everyone.

We’re especially excited about one of this year’s crafts! 🌼 Kids will get to paint their own flower pot and plant a flower to take home. A huge thank you to our wonderful neighbors at Baker’s Acres for generously donating the flowers for this project. We truly appreciate your support of our valley kids! ❤️

Join us for the Back to School Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
