Re-Bicycle Lenawee The mission of this nonprofit, volunteer-run community bicycle shop is to support and promote biking. We are located at 313 E. Maumee St., Adrian, Michigan.

Re-Bicycle Lenawee is a non-profit, volunteer-run community bike shop organized to get donated bicycles into the hands of our homeless and less fortunate population. We are keeping bicycling alive by meeting the community need for repairs since Adrian Lock & Bike closed in June 2020. Re-Bicycle Lenawee was established in September 2010 and has distributed over 2,000 bicycles since then to the economically disadvantaged in Lenawee County. Volunteers are always needed to learn how to refurbish and repair bicycles. We operate solely on donations of cash, bicycles, and parts. We have new parts for repairs and for sale as well.

Paying it forward. Our shop has been tremendously blessed by so much support over the past 15 years. Today, we shared some of that love with the fine folks at the Muskegon County Bicycling Coalition (MCBC), passing off a heap of consumable bike parts to the Greasy Opossum bike repair crew at their Muskegon Farmers Market pop-up shop. MCBC and The Greasy Opossum are doing great things in their neck of the woods, where the closest local bike shop is on the farthest edge of town on a very congested, very NOT bike-friendly stretch of road. These folks are successfully advocating for bike infrastructure, outfitting local schools with bikes for after-school kids' programs, maintaining bikes for check-out at a local library, giving away bikes to those in need, keeping locals rolling with repairs, and more. We wish them all good things in their ongoing efforts. It was a blast wrenching with them a bit.

First Friday Freewheel was a raging success. No one showed up, but three of us from the shop took a spin anyway. Here's a picture pilfered from the internet featuring three random kids on bikes, because it captures the vibe pretty well, and we were having too good a time to take any ourselves. We don't know where or how far we rode, because we weren't paying any attention to that either. Hope you can join us next month!
