Congratulations to probationary firefighter Dylan Maghan for graduating from the Toms River Fire Academy with his Firefighter Level 1 and 2. Dylan completed over 320 hours of training in just 8 weeks! Assistant Chief Mike Hubert handed Dylan his certificates on stage, as Dylan’s family and members from Adelphia cheered him on.

On National Dog Day, take a moment to make sure your pets are part of your emergency plan.

🐾 Who will help them if there is a house fire?
🐾 Do you have a pet go bag ready?
🐾 Are their food, medications, leash, carrier, and records easy to grab?

Our dogs are like family, so plan for them too. A few minutes of preparation today can help keep them safe in an emergency.

We had a special visitor last night who reminded us of the impact we make as volunteer first responders!

Dawson Palmarini was in a serious motorcycle accident in 2019 in Toms River. He was found to be unresponsive and was resuscitated by a team of police, fire, and EMS, and flown via a medical helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. His accident left him with a traumatic brain injury and in a four-month coma, and he has recovered to full strength.

Dawson and his dad have been visiting all New Jersey first responders to thank them for what they do each day, and last night he stopped by Adelphia! We are planning a way to honor him in one of our upcoming meetings.

Join us tonight as we display the American flag at the Howell Township Concert Series located at Soldier Memorial Park from 5 - 8pm featuring Austin City Nights with fireworks display after the concert.

New Jersey State Trooper Sergeant First Class Sean Acker will be honored during the event by dedicating a street in his memory.

Volunteer spotlight: Michael Banasz

Michael “Mike” Banasz, 43, is a firefighter, ex chief, and life member of Adelphia Fire Company. His favorite part of volunteering is all the friends he’s made.

“Fundraising and the events we’re involved with in town are especially fun because you get to bond with all the guys in the firehouse,” said Mike.

It was a hot day for all of the teams and spectators but as true competitors, the show must go on.

We would like thank Colts Neck Fire Company #1 for hosting the event this year. We also wanted to thank the volunteer judges for officiating and of course for all of the teams who competed and their supporters who came out to cheer on their teams in this heat.

2027 will mark the 30th Anniversary of the association and plans are underway to have a great event at the Adelphia Fire Company .
