Good Samaritan Food Pantry is open today from 12–2 PM for pantry shopping and food assistance.

🍎 Coming for fresh food only? Fresh food will be available beginning at 1 PM.

📚 A quick Back-to-School reminder: We will no longer be handing out kids’ food packs at the Adel Farmers Market. However, weekend food is still available for all school-age children at ADM & Van Meter Schools through our Backpack Program.

The Backpack Program provides food for kids to take home for weekends and holiday breaks. To get your student signed up, please contact their teacher or school office.

🥚 Got empty egg cartons? We could use them!

Thanks to the generosity of local farmers, we're blessed to receive buckets of fresh eggs to share with families in our community. But before we can distribute them, we need clean, empty egg cartons to package them.

If you have extra cartons, we'd love to put them to good use!

📍 Drop them off during our donation hours:
• Monday–Wednesday: 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month: Noon- 2pm

If those times don't work, just give us a call and we'll help arrange a drop-off - (515) 478-3760

Every carton helps us get fresh, local eggs into the hands of neighbors who need them. 💙

*Please note that we are currently surrounded by road construction, so it's a little difficult to get to us. Please call if you are having trouble getting to us and we can help direct you.

A heartfelt thank you to Darrell and Lynda Bauman for their continued generosity. They regularly donate homegrown pork and beef, helping ensure our neighbors have access to high-quality, locally raised food.

As they so beautifully shared:

"We do this because we live in Iowa, a great agricultural state, that produces an abundance of food. We are farmers and believe the less fortunate should be able to enjoy the food we produce here. God has blessed us to be able to do this."

👧👦🧑‍🦱Reminder that Kids' Food Packs are available every Tuesday evening at the downtown Adel Farmer's Market from 4-7pm, in addition to our regular pantry hours on Mon. & Tues. from Noon -2 PM and 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.
Food packs contain 7 breakfast items, 7 lunches and 14 snacks.

📣We are open TODAY, Saturday, July 18, from Noon-2pm.
Fresh food is available to anyone in need. Monthly pantry staples, including meat, eggs, and cheese are also available. Kids Food Packs can also be picked up and include 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 14 snacks.
Check in with our friendly volunteers on the corner of 11th and Court Street (temporary location).

👦👧Reminder that we have FREE Food Packs for Kids all summer. Packs can be picked up each week at the food pantry during regular hours (Mon. & Tues. Noon-2pm; Sat. July 11 & 18 Noon -2pm.)
Food Packs are also available on Tuesdays from 4-7pm at the Adel Farmer's Market. This week (July 7) the Farmer's Market will be held at the Dallas County Fairgrounds during the Dallas County Fair.
