Our Prospect Jack Sexton lost his wife this weekend after a long battle with cancer. Tina was much more than our Prospect’s Wife she was a long time friend to most everyone in our club and our family and friends. Please keep Jack, her family and friends, and all of us in your thoughts and prayers. Tina was a special person to so many people and will be missed.
ina Sexton, 65, of Sparks passed away on April 4, 2026, at her home. She was born on June 3, 1960, to the late Frank & Emma Griffin, and grew up in Cook County living a life marked by love, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Tina will be remembered for the warmth she shared with others, the care she gave her family, and the many ways she made ordinary moments feel special.
Tina’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved spending time with. She found happiness in the simple and meaningful parts of life, whether she was cooking a favorite meal, tending to her garden, or working on crafts. Her hands were rarely still, as she also enjoyed cabinet making and carpentry, skills that reflected both her creativity and her practical nature.
Those who knew Tina will remember her as a loving woman with a creative spirit and a thoughtful heart. She had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for, and her presence brought comfort and joy to her family and friends. Her life was a reflection of the values she held dear, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to the people she loved most.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Sexton of Sparks; her daughter, Tabatha and Chris Scrivens of Adel; and her son, Bryce Miller and Kristian Meeks of Crestview, Florida. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Zoe Miller, Brody Scrivens, Zia Miller, Delilah Miller, and Daphnie Miller. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Johnny (Betty) Collins of Kentucky, Will Collins of Kentucky, Frank “Bo” (Susan) Griffin of Tifton, and Kevin Griffin (Holly Wilson) of Lenox; her sisters, Patricia (late Walter) Boatner of Adel and Barbara Grant of Lenox; and her father & mother-in-law, Austin "Pa" and Billie "Ma" Sexton of Adel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tina was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Gunner Pharr and Vada Marie Scrivens, as well as one brother, Richard Griffin. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried the love of her family with her always.
Her life was one of devotion, creativity, and quiet strength. Tina touched the lives of many through her generous spirit, her steady presence, and the love she gave so freely. Though her passing leaves a deep sorrow, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
