The Polish American Medical Society extends its deepest congratulations to Professor Maria Siemionow, esteemed member of the PAMS Board, on receiving the Medawar Prize, one of the most distinguished honors in the field of transplantation.

This extraordinary recognition honors Professor Siemionow’s pioneering contributions to transplantation medicine and her enduring impact on the advancement of science and patient care. As the first Polish scientist and only the third woman to receive this prestigious distinction, her achievement is both historic and profoundly inspiring.

We are honored to recognize Professor Siemionow for this remarkable accomplishment and to celebrate the excellence, dedication, and distinction she brings to medicine and to the Polish-American medical community 🇵🇱 🇺🇸

Tegoroczny Piknik Związku Lekarzy Polskich przebiegł niczym perfekcyjnie przeprowadzona operacja – bez komplikacji, przy pięknej pogodzie, w doskonałej atmosferze i z pełną satysfakcją wszystkich „pacjentów”, czyli uczestników. Jedynymi „lekami”, jakie tego dnia aplikowano, były grillowane specjały, ciasta, świeże owoce oraz orzeźwiające napoje.

Wielkie brawa dla naszej pani doktor Siemionow. Zasłużona nagroda. 👏🏻👏🏻

Chirurg i transplantolog, pracująca w Stanach Zjednoczonych, prof. Maria Siemionow została tegoroczną laureatką Nagrody Medawara, najbardziej prestiżowego wyróżnienia w światowej transplantologii. Urodzona i wykształcona w Polsce doktor w 2008 r. wykonała pierwszy w Stanach Zjednoczonych, a czwarty na świecie udany przeszczep twarzy.
