Today, we remember every life lost on September 11, 2001, honor the heroes who ran toward danger, and hold close the families and communities forever changed. As Lions Club members, we join together in remembrance, carrying their memories in our hearts, honoring their courage, and promising never to forget.

Happy Labor Day from the Adams Lions Club!
Today, we pause to honor the hardworking people who help make Adams such a strong, caring, and vibrant community. From our neighbors, local businesses, volunteers, first responders, educators, healthcare workers, tradespeople, and everyone who gives their time and talents each day — we see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful for all you do.
Labor Day is a reminder that when we work together, serve together, and look out for one another, we build something truly special. The Adams Lions Club is proud to be part of this community and proud to stand alongside so many dedicated people who make a difference every day.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, restful, and happy Labor Day. Thank you for all you do to keep our community moving forward.

Celebrating Service, Dedication, and Community Spirit
The Adams Lions Club is proud to celebrate several outstanding members who were recognized with Lions International Monarch Chevron Awards for their remarkable years of service.
These awards, presented on behalf of Lions International President Mark S. Lyons, honor the commitment, dedication, and heart these Lions have shared with our community year after year:
Rachel H. Tomkowicz — 10 years of service
Wilfred R. Bourdon III — 25 years of service
Jean K. Sherman — 30 years of service
Mark Pringle — 40 years of service
James Dynes — 55 years of service
Richard C. Laing — 55 years of service
District 33Y Governor Arthur McConnell presented the awards locally at the club’s first members meeting of the new Lion year on Thursday, September 3, at the Bounti-Fare Restaurant in Adams.

The Chevron Award is named for the chevron symbol, an insignia representing rank or length of service. For Lions, it represents something even greater: years of showing up, lending a hand, supporting neighbors, and helping make our community stronger.
From small acts of kindness to meaningful community projects, these dedicated Lions remind us what it means to live a life rooted in service. Their commitment has made a lasting difference in Adams and beyond, and their example inspires all of us to continue carrying forward the proud Lions legacy of compassion, generosity, and service.
Congratulations to each of these remarkable members on their milestone achievements, and thank you for all you do for our community.
If you are looking for a way to give back, make a difference, and be part of something meaningful, we invite you to join the Adams Lions Club family. Together, we can continue serving, strengthening, and uplifting our community.

Welcome to the Adams Lions Club Family!
The Adams Lions Club was proud to welcome our newest member, Tanya Farrar, during our September 3 meeting at Bounti-Fare Restaurant.
Tonya was sponsored by Lion Richard Laing and officially inducted by District 33Y Governor Arthur McConnell. We are excited to have Tanya join us in carrying forward the Lions’ proud tradition of service, kindness, and community support.
Tonya’s husband, Matthew, is also a member of the Adams Lions Club, making this a wonderful family connection within our club.

For generations, Lions Club members have answered the call to serve. Here in Adams, our members give their time, energy, and hearts to strengthen our community and help make life better for others.
From supporting eye research to helping local organizations, youth programs, senior services, charitable causes, athletic teams, and scholarships for graduates of Hoosac Valley High School, McCann Technical School, and BART, the Adams Lions Club continues to live out the motto: We Serve.
Every act of service, large or small, helps build a stronger, more caring community—and every member makes that mission possible.
If you have ever wanted to give back, meet caring people, and be part of something meaningful, we invite you to join the Adams Lions Club family. New members bring new ideas, new energy, and new possibilities for service.

📢 Big news for Northern Berkshire residents! 👓

The North Adams Lions Club and Lions District 33-Y is partnering with the Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District to place eyeglasses recycling boxes at all 14 member transfer stations!

Starting this month, you can drop off your old prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses at your local transfer station. Boxes will be placed in transfer stations in Adams, Cheshire, Dalton, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown, and Windsor, with additional collection at town halls in Clarksburg, Lanesborough, Monroe, and New Ashford.

Your donated glasses will be cleaned, sorted, and redistributed to people in need around the world through the Lions' long-running eyeglasses recycling program. It's one of the simplest ways to make a real difference, and it costs nothing to participate.

So next time you're cleaning out a drawer, bring those old glasses along on your transfer station run! 🌍✨
