The Adams Lions Club and the Adams Council on Aging were honored to come together once again for our annual Senior Picnic on this past Thursday, August 20th to celebrate and serve our local seniors. It was a wonderful evening filled with food, music, friendship, and community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our Adams seniors and thankful to every Lions Club member and volunteer who helped make this special event possible. This is what community service is all about.

📢 Big news for Northern Berkshire residents! 👓

The North Adams Lions Club and Lions District 33-Y is partnering with the Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District to place eyeglasses recycling boxes at all 14 member transfer stations!

Starting this month, you can drop off your old prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses at your local transfer station. Boxes will be placed in transfer stations in Adams, Cheshire, Dalton, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown, and Windsor, with additional collection at town halls in Clarksburg, Lanesborough, Monroe, and New Ashford.

Your donated glasses will be cleaned, sorted, and redistributed to people in need around the world through the Lions' long-running eyeglasses recycling program. It's one of the simplest ways to make a real difference, and it costs nothing to participate.

So next time you're cleaning out a drawer, bring those old glasses along on your transfer station run! 🌍✨

Do you have old eyeglasses, reading glasses, or sunglasses collecting dust? Don’t throw them away — donate them to the Adams Lions Club!
The Adams Lions Club collects usable eyeglasses year-round so they can be refurbished and distributed to people in need around the world.
Drop-off locations include:
(Adams) Adams Council on Aging / Visitor Center, Adams Library, Adams Police Department, Adams Town Clerk’s Office, Adams Water Department, American Legion Post #160, Cataract & Laser Center, Chop Shop, Specialty Minerals, Smith Bros McAndrew Insurance, The Daily Grind, Advanced Eyecare. (North Adams) Goodwill, Massetti & Field, Moulton’s Spectacle Shop. (Williamstown) Williamstown Council on Aging.
Lions Club Incentive: Every pair donated helps change someone’s life — and every donor helps the Lions continue our mission of service. Bring in a pair, encourage a friend to donate, and help us reach more people in need.

Tonight is the Night and looks like Mother Nature is going to help with a evening of nice weather!
Celebrate Community Safety – Adams National Night Out
Every year on the first Tuesday in August, neighborhood safety organizations and community partners come together with residents for an evening filled with information-sharing, safety activities, fun, and food—all in the spirit of building stronger, safer neighborhoods and community.
Adams Police Department will be hosting - National Night Out 2026 tonight - Tuesday, August 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm
Join them at the Adams Visitor’s Center on Hoosac Street for this great fun event.
This annual event is going to be bigger than ever!
They will have a dunk tank, music, a bounce house, police vehicles, touch a truck, and lots more!
The Adams Police Department has again asked the Adams Lion’s Club to have their food trailer there for this event.
The Adams Lion’s Club will be offering FREE Bread Dough & Hot Dogs while supplies last (this a collaboration between The Adams Police Department and The Lion’s Club)

This past Sunday, the Multiple District MD33 Council of Governors gathered at the Grafton Lions Pavilion for our annual meeting, marking the close of the 2025–2026 Lions year and the beginning of the 2026-2027 Lions Year.
I am pleased to announce that the 2026-2027 MD33 Second Vice District Governor Team is complete, and I am proud to be part of this team. Bringing together committed Lion leaders from across Massachusetts who are dedicated to advancing the mission of Lions International and supporting the continued success of our clubs and districts and our District Governors.
Over the coming year, we will work collaboratively to strengthen clubs, encourage leadership development, support membership growth, and increase service impact throughout Multiple District 33. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with this team and look forward to the important work ahead.
Through teamwork, communication, and a shared commitment to service, we will continue to support Lions and Leos as they meet the needs of their communities and carry forward the proud tradition of service that defines our organization.
