The Shooting Star Trail

The Shooting Star Trail The Shooting Star State Trail eastern trailhead is located in LeRoy in Mower County-Minnesota and travels north through Lake Louise State Park.

The Shooting Star Trail connects the Hormel Nature Center in Austin to LeRoy, MN with 28.75 miles of paved trail through the towns of Rose Creek, Adams, Taopi and LeRoy, including Lake Louise State Park. It heads west towards Taopi, through the city of Adams and continues to the city of Rose Creek, allowing trail users to experience a rural landscape. It continues along MN Hwy 56 and turns west at

215th Street. It ends at the Hormel Nature Center in Austin, MN. Portions of the trail parallel MN Highway 56, also known as the Shooting Star Wildflower and Historic Route Scenic Byway. The native wildflowers and grasses are a highlight of this trail.

Maintenance is happening on the trail at Rose Creek (610 Avenue trailhead) for about a mile east as they repair the wooden fence. The trail is blocked off.
UPDATE: Trail is not blocked off. Wooden fence is down and not yet replaced.
