Spook-O-Ree at Camp Sidney Dew was so much fun! It was a gorgeous weekend and a great introduction to CSD for our new Cub Scout families! Walking Sticks, STEM Shows, Hay Ride, Archery, BBs, Slingshot, Facepaint, Obstacle Course and Haunted Night-time Hay Ride! A great weekend out in the woods!

Don’t forget to stop by the Cub Scout tent at The Great Locomotive Chase Festival in Adairsville this weekend to get your spaghetti dinner tickets and popcorn! We’re in the parking lot of Water Tower Grill.

The spaghetti dinner will be on Saturday, Oct 18. You can Dine In or Carry Out from NorthPointe Church OR at purchase you can designate to donate your ticket to a local first responder and we’ll deliver the dinners that night! For just $10 you can support Pack 12 Scouts AND first responders! What a deal!!

HUGE thanks to our Charter Organization, Adairsville Lions Club, for providing and preparing the dinners.

October is a great month to be in Pack 12!! As always, everything is optional, but who wants to say no to family fun?? Or adventure awards and patches! Our Scout friend Jeff from Pack 1993 graciously agreed to teach the Cub Scouts all about fishing since we were all camping at the lake on Saturday afternoon. And thankful to one of the Cub Scout Packs in Holly Springs for letting us borrow their Backyard Bass Set for the kids to practice casting!

The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup is always an excuse to camp for the weekend! This year we stayed at Sweetwater Campground. For many of our new Cub Scouts (and even some of our parents) it was their first time camping in a tent! The older kids practiced setting up tents on their own. Watched a Bald Eagle in the trees above our campsites with his freshly caught fish. Lots of free time for kids to play and parents to hang out.

This past Saturday was one of our favorite annual service and conservation projects! Pack 12 joined with Scouting groups from all around the area to clean miles and miles of lakeshore with The Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up - Georgia! Lots of trash was collected to help keep our waterways safer and cleaner!
