Kofi Chapter of Quail Forever The Kofi Chapter of Quail Forever, based in Ada, OK, focuses on conserving and creating upland bird habitats, along with local education and outreach efforts.

Quail hunting has time-honored traditions and sadly on the decline due to populations of bobwhite quail declining rapidly across the southern United States. Reasons for their decline are based on many variables - but most especially on habitat and weather. We can control the habitat - but we can’t control the weather. So to help these birds regain some of their population, we have to focus on impr

oving and restoring habitat for not only quail, but other wildlife as well. The journey for good quail habitat begins with You - and the community that you live in, to help educate, spread the word, encourage better land practices and much more. Which is why every quail hunter—and there are approximately 1 million nationwide—should be a Quail Forever member. No organization does more to improve habitat that produces quail than Quail Forever.

I need to scratch my name off this award and put Joe Kelley’s on it. Anyone who will help you burn hundreds of acres in 100 degree plus heat deserves the award more than me. I’ve been part of a lot of organizations but never been in one where the members were so passionate, informed and hard working. This group is about conservation in action and I’m very thankful to be working with people like Joe. A special thanks is also due to biologist extraordinaire Justin Hinton. I’ve learned so much from Justin and greatly appreciate the time and effort he puts into burns and wildlife management.

This week our local biologist got our new equipment out on three burns to really break it in. He started the week down the road in Roff at Covia.

We crossed paths with Covia last fall when they were tagging monarchs with local high schoolers and wanted some help. Now, we are helping them remove brush to create more friendly spaces for pollinators.

Keep it up! We will be ready to help with the next burn, too.

You’re Invited to the Kofi QF 1st Annual Youth Summer Shoot.

Join us for a fun day in the sun on the range at the Kofi Summer Shoot! This youth event is open to students of all experience levels, whether you are brand new to shooting sports or already enjoy trap and s***t.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in trap and s***t shooting in a welcoming, encouraging environment. Door prizes and raffles will add even more excitement throughout the event.

No matter your skill level, you are invited to come learn, participate, and enjoy the day with friends. Bring your energy, your enthusiasm, and be ready for a safe and memorable youth shooting sports event.
