Painting Still Life in Oil
📅 Next Class Dates: Fridays, October 2 - November 6
⏰ Time: 9:00-12:00
Description:
Painting Still Life in Oils- Class will be taught in the Alla Prima style, basically wet in wet. Drawing skills are a plus. Students will finish one painting during each class period, painting on 8x10, 9x12 or 11x14 canvases. A supply list is available upon request from the Art House. Classes are held from 9AM to 12 Noon on Fridays at the Art House in Acworth, GA.

Gary begins each class with a short demonstration/discussion. Following this, he offers assistance at your easel. Some of the subjects included in the discussions: simplification of subject, value sketching, composition within the painting surface, value block in, standard color schemes, color mixing, painterly" paint application, simplification of subject, glazing techniques, varnishing, framing. A positive learning critique of each student's work is given at the conclusion of each class.

Drawing From Nature Workshop with Sheena Dickerson
📅Saturday, September 26
⏰10am-2:30ish (One Day Workshop)
Cost: $85 per person
Minimum 2/Maximum 8. Ages 16 and older.
Please bring a lunch, snack and beverage.

Description: In this one day workshop we will start in the classroom with an introduction to concepts of “Drawing from Nature”. Please bring some references of “nature related subjects” to work from. (We will have some to share too.) Bring whatever art supplies you’d like to work with- ie. pencils, colored pencils, watercolors/brushes, pastels, acrylics…your choice, a sketch book, small canvases… We will be creating several things during this workshop, and weather permitting, we will go outside and create something “plein aire” (from life).

This class is perfect for beginners and beyond- It is geared toward beginners who have never painted before or those who have little experience, as well as those with some painting experience. This is perfect for beginners and those who say they cannot "do" art. You pick favorite colors and learn several “Acrylic Pouring Techniques”. Decide which ones you’d like to use and start pouring. Your pieces will need to dry at the Art House for a day or so, before you bring them home.

Glass Fusing and Slumping- with Teresa
📅 Next Class Dates: Wednesdays, September 9-30 (4 weeks)
⏰ Time: 2-4pm
Description:
This class is for beginners as well as those with prior experience. In this class you will create masterpieces with glass fusing. Glass pieces are first cut and layered, then fused in a kiln. Your creations can then be placed in a mold and fired again to change the shape. You will have one of a kind works of art when you are finished.

Cost: $55 All Supplies Included. Ages 15 and older.
DESCRIPTION:
This class is for beginners who would like to have fun making a "fused glass" trinket dish or "picture frame". All glass supplies are provided for you. Your base piece of glass will be cut for you, then you will add glass pieces and embellishments in a design of your choosing, and at the end of class your piece will be placed in the kiln to be fused. You will have one of a kind works of art when you are finished.
