Neil Lorenzo’s Beginning Acrylic Class
📅Tuesdays, November 10 - December 8 (4 weeks- no class 11/24)

Description:
This class is perfect for beginners and beyond- It is geared toward beginners who have never painted before or those who have little experience, as well as those with some painting experience. Neil will discuss on Gesso, Painting Surface Preparation, Paper, Panel, Canvas, Paint Theory, Brush Usage, Practice Mixing Paints, Using Brushes and be available to guide those with previous painting experience. Try something new! We have a beginning oil class with Gary. This is a great refresher course too!

Beginning Oil
📅 Next Class Dates: Fridays, November 13- December 11 (4 weeks- no class 11/27)
⏰ Time: 9:00-12:00
Description:
This will be a beginning class in oil painting. Each week we will focus on another aspect of the painting process. Classes are held from 9AM to 12 Noon on Fridays at the Art House in Acworth, GA.

4 weeks: #1, How to use your tools, #2, Shape Making, #3 Color Mixing, #4. Lights & Darks

Supply List: Paint colors: white, black, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow light, cadmium red (Gamblin preferred if possible), Gamsol (odorless paint thinner), Brushes: 1/2” flat bristle, #5 round, palette, roll of paper towels or rags, 11 x 14 canvas, “Solvent container w/lid for gamsol” (These are the basics.)

Gary begins each class with a short demonstration/discussion. Following this, he offers assistance at your easel. Some of the subjects included in the discussions: simplification of subject, value sketching, composition within the painting surface, value block in, standard color schemes, color mixing, painterly" paint application, simplification of subject, glazing techniques, varnishing, framing. A positive learning critique of each student's work is given at the conclusion of each class.

Varnishing A Watercolor Painting with Robin Masek
📅Saturday, Oct. 31-
⏰ 3:00-5:00 (One Day Workshop)
Cost: $30 Ages 18 and older.
DESCRIPTION:
In this class, Robin will demonstrate the steps to varnish a watercolor painting. Multiple drying times are needed between the different steps. To speed up the demonstration, Robin will demonstrate each step and then move on to the next step, so you see the whole process. You will be provided with a list of materials needed and instructions on how to varnish a watercolor painting. “Varnishing” a watercolor is a newer technique and makes it possible for you to frame a watercolor painting without having to put glass over it.

'Tis the season! Give the Gift of Art this season. It's one month away over 40+ different artists!
Our Holiday Gift Shop is just around the corner! All work is by our Member Artists.
This event will take place in the Acworth Community Center, in the Tanyard Creek Overlook space. The Holiday Gift Shop will be on Saturday, November 14 from 10am-4pm. There is no entrance fee.

Try out Cindy's Acrylic Pouring Class!
This is perfect for beginners and those who say they cannot "do" art. You pick favorite colors and learn several “Acrylic Pouring Techniques”. Decide which ones you’d like to use and start pouring. Your pieces will need to dry at the Art House for a day or so, before you bring them home.
🗓️ Next Classes: October 24- 2-4pm, November 21- 2-4pm

Glass Fusing and Slumping- with Teresa
📅 Next Class Dates: Wednesdays, Nov. 4-18 (3 weeks)
⏰ Time: 2-4pm
Description:
This class is for beginners as well as those with prior experience. In this class you will create masterpieces with glass fusing. Glass pieces are first cut and layered, then fused in a kiln. Your creations can then be placed in a mold and fired again to change the shape. You will have one of a kind works of art when you are finished.
