Saturday, May 2, 2026 was a great day for the 9th annual Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Festival. No rain and lots of racing and family fun. I want to take a minute to thank all of those I should thanked on Saturday. ACDBFestival board..Janet Wade, Gina Bellew, Susan Droege, Gail Arcemont and Angela Evans. Our great Dynamic Dragon Boat Racing Staff with Chris Behling in charge. Peggy and Charlotte as scorekeepers. Jody Jackson our great MC. The Cobb County Fire Dept Water Rescue and our medic. Also, my lovely family who fills in where needed..d,riving the pontoon boats and selling raffle tkts and keeping up with the incoming money. Shay Traylor who sang the Star Spangled Banner beautifully. Gina who kept up with the signed waivers. Once again many thanks to the City of Acworth for their support.

It is so great to see families coming out and enjoying all of the activities. The face painting is one of the favorites. What a great day. I met a man with his son and he said he and his wife look forward to the festival every year

This festival honors cancer survivors and remember those who have left us. We have a rose ceremony during our lunch break. Also we have signage posted on beach "In Honor of and "In memory of". The signs are $15 each.

Getting closer to May 2, 2026 and the 9th Annual Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Festival.
This event is to raise funds for cancer outreach programs in the local area. In the past donations have been made to Camp Sunshine and Loving Arms Outreach. This year there will be 2 20 seat cancer survivor boats paddling. The Purple Dragons and Thrive2 Survive
