Camp Gideon Camp Gideon a Nonprofit Organization offering camp and retreat facility located on Lake Allatoona.

Camp Gideon was discovered as an overgrown, abandoned camp on Lake Allatoona. It was formed as a non-profit organization in 1996 and through many years, vision and volunteers has been turned into a beautiful 37-acre camp and retreat center. We offer camp programs for children, practical leadership training for youth, and retreat facilities which are utilized by other organizations throughout the y

ear. Camp Gideon provides assistance through camp programming, leadership training and retreat facility usage to more than 2,800 local individuals yearly. We promote community, volunteerism, leadership, and spiritual growth. Studies show that camp promotes autonomy and resilience, provides a place to belong, strengthens social skills, cultivates relationships and provides affirmation. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to attend camp, that is why we also provide scholarships to local, "at-risk" children and youth which make up over 25% of our campers.

Weekly Update & Prayer Request

What an amazing week we had at Camp Gideon!

Our days were filled with excited campers, and our evenings were spent with our Leaders in Training and staff enjoying fun activities, meaningful fellowship, incredible worship, and powerful messages. A special thank you to Jessica Hidden from Victory Church for bringing a beautiful and impactful message during our evening chapel, and to Sammy Sanchez for leading us so faithfully in worship and prayer.

I continue to be amazed by the incredible work the Lord is doing in and through our team at Camp Gideon. Watching our staff and Leaders in Training grow in their faith, leadership, and service has been such a blessing. Their willingness to love, serve, and invest in the lives of others is inspiring.

As we move into our fourth week of camp, please pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen our team, fill them with joy, and help them walk in unity and truth. Throughout this summer, we have seen God bring amazing breakthroughs in the lives of campers, Leaders in Training, and staff as we have explored our theme of TRUTH. We have witnessed hearts being challenged and transformed as individuals confront the lies they have believed about themselves and others and allow the Holy Spirit to lead them into God’s truth.

Please join me in praying for the following this week:

* Safety for all campers, Leaders in Training, staff, and volunteers
* Favorable weather throughout the week
* Unity, encouragement, and strength within our team
* Clear and powerful communication of the Gospel
* Lives to be changed and hearts to be healed
* Continued spiritual growth and breakthroughs as campers discover God’s truth

Last day of day camp for the week!

We’ve had an amazing time full of fun, friendships, worship, games, and memories that we hope will last far beyond this week. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible and to every family who trusted us with your campers.

Recap and Prayer Request
Wow—what an amazing week at camp! Thank you so much for faithfully covering us in prayer.

This past week, we welcomed 109 campers, 32 Youth Leaders in Training, 24 staff members, and 6 volunteers. It was incredible to watch God move in so many ways.

We all called Monday “Miracle Monday.” The forecast had predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the entire day. Before campers arrived, our team gathered and prayed, asking God to hold back the rain until the campers had safely gone home. He answered in a powerful way! As the name of the very last camper was called for pickup, the skies opened up and the rain began to pour. What a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and care.

The Lord continued to show His goodness throughout the week by holding back the rain while campers were on site. We were able to enjoy every activity without being rained out once.

Our 2026 camp theme is “TRUTH,” based on Jesus’ words in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The Holy Spirit has been moving powerfully during our morning chapel times. The Gospel has been shared throughout each day, and we have seen many young people place their faith in Christ, and begin a relationship with Him. There is no greater joy than seeing lives transformed by the truth of God’s Word.

As we begin our third week of camp, please continue to pray with us:

• For favorable weather and God’s protection over our campers, staff, and volunteers.
• For safety in all activities throughout the week.
• For strength, endurance, and good health for our team.
• That our staff would be filled with the love, joy, and wisdom of Christ and pour those blessings into the lives of their campers.
• That hearts would remain open to the Gospel and that more lives would be changed through an encounter with Jesus.

Thank you again for standing with me in prayer. Your partnership is making an eternal difference as together we seek to impact lives, our community, and our culture with the truth of Christ.
