***Tear Alert *** Gremlin ATB
Feb 2018 a frantic call from San Bernardino. An "old basset mix" picked up as a stray, paralyzed was due for euth - could we take him? We said yes. Our team; Wranglers, Donors, Supporters, Vets pulled together and raised the funds to get him up, walking and running!
We named him Gremlin, because he was. His FAVORITE thing was fetch. All day every day, on repeat. 2/17/18. Think about that. 2789 days. 2 meals per day, treats, supplements, toys, vet care, baths, ear cleaning, nail trimming, warm blankies, special snacks. Adopters came to look - yet Gremlin really was not interested in any of them - other dogs got adopted Gremlin? He had found his family - he picked us. As those days went by, his joy in his home grew. Arthritis set in, and more supplements and special tidbits. Our joke on bath days was always "Don't get him wet - he will multiply". Gremlin's first day of arrival was Luis' first paralysis case here at the ranch. Gremlin has given us each a reason to smile for over 8 years! Last week his back legs failed him, this week he decided no matter what we tried - he wasn't hungry. He told us today he was ready. Thank you Amanda for gathering him up, taking him to his last Daphneyland treat of cheeseburger & chocolate cake, and holding him, singing our song, as Dr. Loken gave him his wings and sent him soaring. Fly high sweet boy - so many friends will be annoyed as you flutter your bat wings into their heads time and again. Visit often wee one - for we loved you so much. Thank you for picking us as your family. Find yourself an angel that will never tire from throwing that ball.
Gremlin forever of Daphneyland
