Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

Thinking of our Canadian sisters and all affected by her loss.

CCMW has so many great resources that all can benefit from such as their Nikah Handbook. https://www.ccmw.com/publications/2019/1/22/marriage-contract

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the news that our dear Alia left us this morning peacefully in her sleep. She was our mother, sister, mentor, and leader. First and foremost, she was a superb human being. For the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW), she was a bold and fearless beacon who guided us through some tumultuous times.

She loved people and wanted to do whatever she could to make their lives easier. She was generous and hospitable and embraced all of us as her family. She was modest and humble to a fault and never liked attention and praise for her extraordinary achievements. Her legacy lives on in her family and all of us at CCMW.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Alia for her wisdom and guidance cannot be expressed in a few words. We are sad at this immense loss and know that she deserved a peaceful passing. We pray for her tranquil journey to Jannat-ul-Firdaus. May God’s blessings always be with her.

Our deepest condolences go out to Alia’s family and friends. We pray that you find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Coercive control—criminalized in the UK but not in the US.

Among all the lurid details and allegations that have surfaced in Sean “Diddy” Combs’s trial on federal charges, including s*x trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, one potential aspect of the music mogul’s relationships has flown under the radar.

Khalil Wimes was murdered by his parents back in 2012. Had he survived, today he would be 21 years old.

He had been removed from his parent's care, but was returned. That's when he died.

We've seen more and more horrible cases of child neglect in the news over that time period.

Please, if you see something, say something. Do not assume somebody else will.

Khalil Wimes, 6, died after being returned from foster care to the care of his parents. He died of blunt force trauma and malnutrition. Khalil was one of several siblings removed from his mother’s care over the years, according to sources close to the case.

TW. Child s*xual abuse.

Very disturbing news but let's celebrate the bravery of his wife for turning him in.

Please, please, please do not think that somebody is "safe" for you or your child based on the amount of Qur'an they know.

TW. Self defese. Domestic Violence. Murder. "This was the case with Shajia Ayobi, who was married for 18 years to Ghulam Ayobi. He was a prisoner of war during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and emerged from that conflict with post-traumatic stress disorder. The couple made their way to Sacramento, where over the years, she said, he grew increasingly erratic and demanded to know her whereabouts at every moment. He’d call, and if she didn’t pick up the phone right away, he’d attack her later. He stalked her at her job. Once, when he came home and found their 14-year-old son, Masiula, playing games on a computer, he retrieved an ax from the garage and attacked the computer, smashing it to bits. While his sisters escaped upstairs and called family friends for help, Masiula said, his dad turned toward him with the ax. Then the friends arrived, and Mr. Ayobi stopped. At one point, Ms. Ayobi escaped to Canada with her children, but after a month Mr. Ayobi brought them back to California, warning her that he would kill the children if she ever tried to flee again.

Ms. Ayobi thought about getting a gun for her protection, but she despaired over being able to use it in a moment of terror, or worse, her husband finding it and using it against the rest of the family. She told me the night her husband died, she was terrified of him not because he’d attacked her but because he’d been so eerily quiet. The couple’s four children were all teens or preteens by the time Mr. Ayobi died, and three of them spoke to me, independently, about how terrified they were of their father and how utterly sure they were that by killing their father, their mother had saved their lives.

But Ms. Ayobi, like Ms. Ford, did not kill her husband herself. Ms. Ayobi, in desperation, offered a classmate $10,000 to kill him just days before his death, in 2011. In both the Ford and Ayobi cases, the women were portrayed as the driving forces behind a sinister plan. Their actions were interpreted not as those of spouses terrified and unable to kill the abuser themselves but as partners so deceptive and manipulative that they masterminded the crime and talked others into joining the scheme. And certainly, a woman who has time to recruit someone to kill her husband for her is not a woman most courts will see as in imminent danger."

"A father-of-five is accused of shooting his wife and three daughters dead in a small community outside Chicago on Sunday in what a 911 dispatcher described as a 'massacre'.

Police were called by a man at the home in Tinley Park just after 11:30am. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene minutes later at 11:36am, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The victims were identified as Majeda Kassem, 53, and her three daughters including twins Halema and Zahia, both 25, and their younger sibling Hanan Kassem, 24. " Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

The village manager confirms the shooting is the result of a domestic incident. A suspect was placed into custody.

These 5 sisters recently completed umrah and were returning home when they tragically were involved in a fatal accident that took their lives and left one critically injured. The victims were aged between 20 and 71. May Allah grant them peace and make us from amongst the best of their supporters. Ameen ❤️ Their families and loved ones who they leave behind need our help, in particular for their funeral costs. Please give what you can at https://www.gofundme.com/f/chpzyz-funeral-costs and share the link with others to encourage their support as well. The accident occurred in Pennsylvania, USA, on 01-16-2024. They were only 30 minutes away from home when their car flipped over in the left lane. Their other family members, who were in another car, stopped to help them, but a semi truck crashed into them and the car killed five of them. This is a devastating time for the families and we want to ease their burden as much as we can. Give what you can at https://www.gofundme.com/f/chpzyz-funeral-costs today.
