Thanks to the Independence from Hunger program at Grocery Outlet in Abington, St. Anne’s food pantry has received wonderful donations that we are now passing along to local families facing food insecurity.

Throughout the month of July, customers can buy a pre-packed bag of groceries which will be donated to a partner food pantry. In return for this donation, the customer will receive a $5.00 store certificate! If you’re in the neighborhood, stop into the Grocery Outlet and support their effort and our pantry. Starting today and continuing through the month of July, the Abington Grocery Outlet, located at 1441 Old York Rd, Abington, PA (often called Abington Shopping Center) is launching a program called Independence From Hunger. They have chosen St. Anne’s to be one of two food pantry partners.

How the program works is that the customer can buy a pre-packed bag of groceries which will be donated to the partner food pantry. In return for this donation, the customer will receive a $5.00 store certificate, a zero-sum transaction.

Also, on Sunday June 28th and Sunday July 12th, representatives from St. Anne’s will be outside the store providing information about the Independence From Hunger drive and our food pantry. Any resulting donations go directly to our pantry. If you’d like to help or get more information, please contact Ed W. [email protected].
