Sometimes I sit quietly and think about how short it all was.
Not short in memories…
but short in time.
Because the years you were here passed like the blink of an eye.

One moment you were the tiny soul stepping into my life for the first time.
Curious eyes.
Soft paws learning the shape of a new home.

And before I knew it…
you had become part of everything.

My mornings began with the sound of your paws crossing the floor.
My evenings ended with your warm body curled beside me.

Every ordinary moment felt fuller with you in it.

You didn’t ask for much.

A walk.
A toy tossed across the room.
A gentle hand resting on your fur.

And somehow those small things became the greatest parts of my life.

But love like yours has a strange way of moving through time.

It arrives quietly…
fills every corner of your world…

and then one day, far too soon, it slips softly beyond reach.

The day you left felt unreal.

Like the world had paused for a moment that my heart couldn’t accept.

Because how could something so beautiful appear…
only to disappear again?

But the longer I sit with that question…
the more I begin to understand something.

Love didn’t appear briefly.

It appeared perfectly.

You came into my life at the exact moment my heart needed you.

You filled years with laughter, warmth, and loyal companionship that no one else could ever replace.

And even though your paws no longer walk beside me…
the love you left behind didn’t leave with you.

It stayed.

In the quiet rooms of this house.
In the memories that arrive when the sun sets softly in the evening.

Sometimes I imagine you somewhere peaceful now.

A bright meadow stretching endlessly beneath a sky filled with gentle clouds.

Your tail wagging as you run again.

Strong.

Happy.

Free from the weight your body once carried.

Maybe you pause there sometimes.

Looking across that glowing horizon.

Waiting patiently for the moment when you’ll see me again.

Because love like ours was never meant to be measured by years.

It was meant to change a life.

And you did.

You appeared briefly in my world…

but the love you gave will last longer than time itself.

Today is a perfect day to come check out our bandanas! ☘️ Ralph is sporting his St. Pawtrick’s Day bandana and looking pretty proud about it.

Every bandana in the shop is sewn by me ☺️, and they’re adjustable and reversible, so your pup actually gets two designs in one.

And remember… every dog that visits is a lucky pup because free treats are always waiting at the counter.

🐾🖤So apparently… I’m official now??

Like OFFICIAL-OFFICIAL.

Mom laid all my gear out on the table like I just leveled up in a video game.
Orange vest? ✔️Therapy patches? ✔️ ID badges?✔️ I tried to act cool… WAIT- That’s me!That’s my name!

Finally, all my certifications and gear came in, and I don’t think I fully understand how big of a deal it is… but Mom and Dad keep saying “you did it, Runey Toons,” so I’m assuming I saved the galaxy or something.

Truth is, I’m just a one-year-old goofball who leans his entire 115lb body weight into people because I love them. I still trip over my own feet and that every stick is legendary treasure. But now I get to wear this bright orange vest and go make people smile. That’s the real superpower.

We truly cannot thank everyone enough who helped make this dream a reality. The trainers: Beth and Jenn, ATD Tester:Stefanie, the friends (too many to name) who encouraged us, the staff who welcomed me in like I belonged you all helped this baby giraffe become a certified therapy dog.

I may be a little derpy… But I’m your derpy therapy hero now. Guardians of Joy.

🖤🐾☀️Nothing says “Spring is coming” like big Danes standing tall with their ears in the wind and their noses in the sky while riding down the road with the top down on the . Windows down. Sun on our faces. Pure joy.

We met up with our friends and .marie99 and got to spend time with them and their sweet little Duecee, also from North Cedar Danes (6 months of baby Dane legs). We worked off-leash recall, down-stays, and walking politely with others- because freedom is earned. I was calm, confident, and very patient with the youngsters. Royal mentorship is serious work.

Training, sunshine, and top-down Jeep rides? 12/10 day.

🐾🖤 Happy National Love Your Pet Day!!!

We celebrated the best way we know how — by loving on others. Tonight we headed to Bristol Regional Hospital for a night visit with our staff friends. Of course, I showed Rune around again. I whispered… and he bowed. (He’s learning.)

We made our rounds — lots of oohs, awws, gentle leans, dramatic flops, and soft eyes. The kind of joy that fills a room quietly but completely. The kind that matters most on long shifts and tired nights.

There’s something special about visiting the night crew. While the world is asleep, they are wide awake taking care of everyone else. Tonight, we got to take care of them — even if just for a few minutes. Grateful for every smile, every hug, and every hand that reached out to us.
