On our fifth Christmas without our Jen, I’d like to thank you for the love and support this past year. We are continuing to honor her legacy as we strive to help more children achieve the gift and right of literacy and support the students at the school she taught at and loved. I will do all I can to make sure she is not forgotten. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. In Jen’s honor, love one another, and be kind. Thank you!

Again this year, John's employer, Beltway Companies, has made a very, very generous donation to the Jennifer Rose Kindley Memorial Scholarship and Grant. We will be awarding three scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year to second grade students at Redeemer Classical Christian School, where Jenny taught second grade, and to continue working toward improving childhood literacy in our community. We are so grateful, and I know Jenny is pleased and proud of the work we are doing in her memory. Thank you to all at Beltway Companies who made this possible!

We also have been assisting the development of a school library at Redeemer. We continually look for ways to assist elementary school children outside the Redeemer scholarships with programs that share our mission. This is the next step in honoring Jenny and her passion for reading.

Karen Bowers and her staff at Abingdon KinderCare continue to support and look after the Little Free Library we erected at their facility. Abingdon KinderCare was one of Jenny's first jobs over 30 years ago, and Karen was her manager. Thank you, Karen! The love still shines.

A new school year is about to start, and I have received photos of the new library at Redeemer Classical Christian School! If you’ve seen our previous posts, the school never had a library. When I was told that they were working on a way to create one in a vacant classroom space, the JRKMS&G donated funds under the Grant provision towards the library. It looks so good! The Grant has provided funds for purchasing books. Jen would be so pleased and proud! This is another way of fulfilling the mission of improving literacy in elementary aged children and supporting Redeemer, where Jenny taught second grade. Stay tuned for more updates on this and other projects!

This morning I had the honor to attend Redeemer’s Grammar School Celebration, where three young people were awarded scholarships from the Jennifer Rose Kindley Memorial Scholarship and Grant, Inc, a non profit we founded to honor our Jen’s memory and legacy. Jenny taught second grade at Redeemer. Teaching reading, teaching in general, was her passion. We are pleased and proud to be able to assist these beautiful children in the 2025-2026 school year.

I had the opportunity to visit Redeemer Classical Christian School today and see the progress on the new library for elementary age students. It’s a work in progress, they are going through the books and organizing. As part of our “Grant” allowance, we have donated towards the purchase of books for the library. The Lily Pad artwork for the room is a wonderful touch in Jen’s honor. Thank you to those who have donated towards the purchase of books for the library; we will keep you posted on the library’s progress. Thank you, Jen would be pleased!

We have recently been made aware that the grammar school at Redeemer Classical Christian School did not have a library! Each teacher kept books in their classroom but there was no specific library area. Recently, space has been found, and a real library is in progress. As per our Grant provision, the JRKMS&G has donated $500.00 towards the purchase of books to help start the library. Jen would be so pleased....I know she's smiling!

Scholarship Applications have gone out for the 2025-2026 school year to second grade students at the school, we are looking forward to awarding three scholarships this year!

Yesterday, John's employer, Beltway Companies, held a luncheon for the recipients of their office donations and annual fundraising golf tournament. Terry, John and I were honored to attend and, for the second year, accept a very, very generous donation on behalf of the Jennifer Rose Kindley Memorial Scholarship and Grant. This donation will allow us to award two, possibly three, scholarships for the 2025 school year to second grade students at Redeemer Classical Christian School, where Jenny taught second grade, and to continue working toward improving childhood literacy in our community. We are so grateful, and I know Jenny is pleased and proud of the work we are doing in her memory. Thank you to all at Beltway Companies who made this possible!

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the Jennifer Rose Kindley Memorial Scholarship for the 2024 school year at Redeemer Classical Christian School! Alaina Mersch and Josiah Rey were each given $1500.00 towards their tuition. We wish these children the best for a wonderful school year!

The Jennifer Rose Kindley Memorial Scholarship was established to keep the work and the memory of our Jen alive. She was a second grade teacher at Redeemer Classical Christian School, and her students and teaching, especially reading, meant the world to her. We are pleased to honor her memory by providing scholarships to second grade students at Redeemer in her memory.
