Big Country CASA endeavors to provide valuable volunteer advocacy for every child within the Taylor County child welfare system. CASA volunteers provide information through court reports and testimony and make recommendations in the child’s best interest to the court. CASA volunteers are a consistent presence in a child’s life while working collaboratively with others involved in the case. Advocat

es ensure appropriate physical, mental health, and educational assessments are completed and that the child’s needs are understood by everyone involved in the case. This allows our volunteers to bring a unique perspective to the court case, advocate for the best interest of a child, and make informed recommendations for the child’s physical and emotional wellbeing to the judge.
