Got to meet my “battle buddy” today! 🇺🇸

I’m incredibly excited and honored to be joining the Permian Basin Honor Flight this October, and today I had the opportunity to meet the veteran I’ll be making that journey alongside.

The Permian Basin Honor Flight also joined us just a couple of days ago at GRIT’s Veteran & Senior Resource Fair, helping veterans and families learn more about this incredible opportunity.

If you missed their booth at the Resource Fair, I encourage you to check them out and learn more about what they do for our veterans.

Carry the Mission is moving forward. 🇺🇸

What started as an idea is becoming something much bigger.

We are incredibly grateful to GORUCK for providing five weighted vests and five sets of weights for the GVSR Board as we continue developing Carry the Mission by GVSR.

At our Veteran & Senior Resource Fair, many of you saw the beginning of Carry the Mission — a vest covered in patches representing the organizations, people, and stories behind our mission.

Now, we’re preparing to actually carry the weight.

Carry the Mission will bring people together through service, movement, purpose, and community — while continuing to connect Veterans, active-duty military, seniors, caregivers, families, and the organizations that serve them.

The vests are here.

The mission is growing.

And soon, we’re going to start walking it together.

Carry the Weight. Carry the Story. Carry the Mission.

Yesterday was something special.

When we started planning the first GRIT’s Veteran & Senior Resource Fair, we had one goal: bring people together and make it easier for our community to find the resources and support they deserve.

Yesterday, we watched that vision come to life.

Veterans. Active-duty military. Seniors. Caregivers. Families. Community organizations. Volunteers. Speakers. Friends.

All under one roof.

There are so many people and organizations to thank, and over the next several days we are going to do our best to recognize them. But this morning, we simply want to say:

Thank you, Abilene.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting one another. And thank you for believing in what GRIT’s Veteran & Senior Resources is working to build.

The Resource Fair may be over, but the mission is just getting started. 🇺🇸
