It's time to meet the final Philharmonic staff member; last, but not least, Music Librarian & Section Double Bass CJ Johnson!

CJ received his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University and his master's degree from Georgia State University, both in Double Bass Performance. He's played music since high school in a variety of forms, ranging from a stint playing electric bass in a garage band to spending two years playing music on cruise ships. The majority of his playing, though, is orchestral; he's a freelance double bassist for a variety of orchestras, including the Central Texas Philharmonic, the Austin Symphony, the Austin Opera, and the Waco Symphony.

It's time to meet the next Philharmonic staff member, Education Coordinator Jenny Johnson!

Jenny graduated with a B.B.S. in English Education from Hardin Simmons University; she taught secondary English in public schools for 13 year. When asked what her favorite part of this job was, she said, "Watching students experience music in new and different ways. I love to watch students learn!"

It's time to meet the next Philharmonic staff member, Business Manager Madi Melbourne!

Madi received a BFA in Theatre from McMurry University, and while she's new to the world of orchestral music, she's thrilled to be surrounded by such talented musicians. About the Phil, she says, "It's such a blessing to have such a phenomenal orchestra in Abilene, and I love that I get to be a small part of it!"

It's time to meet the next Philharmonic staff member, Operations & Personnel Manager Beverly Gard-Pardinas!

Beverly received an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and she later completed her masters degree in Music Education from Anderson University. She also holds a Professional Performance Degree in Oboe from Penn State and a Doctorate of Music Education from Liberty University. Her favorite part of the job? She says that it's "getting to collaborate with musicians and being a part of bringing beautiful music to the West Texas community!"

The spotlight usually shines onstage, but there’s an entire team working behind the scenes. As we get ready for our 76th season, let’s pull back the curtain and introduce the people who make the magic happen.

First and foremost, meet our Executive Director, Nick Williamson! Nick received an undergraduate degree in Music from Hardin-Simmons University, and he later completed a graduate degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State. About the Phil, he says, "No two days look the same, but all of it goes toward supporting live classical music. Behind the scenes is the best seat in the house!"
