Wow-

What a fast week.
It seems like just yesterday we were rolling in to NJ to prep and get ready for a 300 mile ride…
And now, we are on our last overnight before we get home tomorrow.

The entire TXWOJ was, as always, in a league of their own. The riders rode, the supporters supported and then some. I haven’t ridden in several years and this year, Scott and Robbie stepped up and rearranged their plan so that I could ride again, Thank You both! I rode and am absolutely amazed at how much our TXWOJ Support team did to make the end of each day a nice break. They helped with luggage in the am, got all of us riders off and rolling, then went on to the next town and unloaded all the luggage and finally set up our team area each night.
Pretty Freaking Incredible
Thank you Scott, Dana, Missy and Sara- you are the stars and we thank you!

My first year back riding since 2014(?) was a wild ride. Many times I wasn’t sure I was gonna make 300, but with the encouragement and motivation from every single TXWOJ rider and with some reminders, bracelets, I remembered the WHY and Rodney and Elise definitely rode with me.

It was an absolute Honor to get to ride again and look forward to continue doing so.

Thank you all so much for your support, the follows and shares, check ins and text messages. Each and every one was received at a time I really needed it.

And just like that-

We are at RFK stadium.

We, all P. U. T. Riders meet here as there are different groups riding at the same time from different areas.

We stage here. And then, in a bit we will begin the solemn but very honorable ride from here to the memorial.

There are still so many to THANK for making this happen for me this year and I am extremely grateful. Without you all, I would not have been able to make this trip and Honor our own who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

You are not forgotten!

Well

Today is the Day-

Day 4. The entire reason we do this. TXWOJ Team members have been absolutely amazing.
From managing the truck and trailer and taking care of the riders, to managing the pick up van for the riders who have needed a little assistance to the hotel team who manages the check in for all the tour members at each hotel.

P.S. This pic was inside our trailer this morning!

THANK YOU all!

Let’s ride TXWOJ

In just a few short weeks we will be back on the road heading to New Jersey. The drive from here, Abilene, to NJ is long, but absolutely amazing. It gives us 2 days to get our heads and hearts right for the true reason of the trip.

May 9 actually starts the journey. We get the privilege to ride our bicycles 300 miles from NJ to DC over 4 days, to HONOR the sacrifice so many have made. This is not about any one officer or group, but it is about the officers, families and departments that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

I have participated in this event since 2011 when we lost one of our very own, Rodney T. Holder. Since then, we have also lost Elise Ybarra . Two of the most amazing, selfless people I have ever personally known.

So in your daily, weekly, occasional talks to God, I ask you say a prayer for the ones who have been taken too early and for those of us who are gonna try to honor their legacy.
