Ladies and Gentleman it is a great honor to announce the first day of Christmas tours is today. The smell of fresh Christmas cookies is in the air. These cookies are from the recipes of the Seelye sisters. Stop and get yours while on tour. Everything is in one of a kind fashion. Including over 750 nutcrackers and many other Christmas wonders.

Yesterday was the beginning of whats going to be a very merry Christmas at the Seelye Mansion. The first trees have been moved to there locations all around this historic home. The Christmas tours begin the day after Thanksgiving and are only $7.50 per person for groups of ten or more. We will have our huge collection of nutcrackers from all over the world on display, Over 85 Christmas trees as well as a large number of poinsettia plants. Schedule your Christmas tour today at 785-263-1084. However it is not needed to schedule a time. We are open from 10am to 4pm daily. Fresh cookies from the recipes of the lovely Seelye sisters Helen and Marion will be made daily for all to enjoy. See you on your Christmas tour.

Well folks its almost time for us here at the Seelye Mansion to get into the Christmas season yet again. Only this year we are trying to bring a whole new look and feel of this joyous season. We are asking for your Ideas and suggestions. So if you have toured this historic home, or even if you have not, reply with some of your Christmas Ideas and come take a Christmas tour to see if your Christmas Ideas were used.

Coming soon to the Seelye Mansion a tribute to holcomb and hoke. This is the company we have to thank for our bowling alley. The company was also known for its butter-kist popcorn machines as well as many other items. We recently learned that the company has closed their doors for good it seems, but the company legacy will be carried on through many years of playing our very rare bowling alley. We invite you to join us for a tour and a chance to share in the excitement this bowling alley brings.

The Seelye Mansion is a historic home built between the years of 1904-1905. It was originally owned by Dr. Seelye, a patent pharmacist. Two of the products that were created here by Dr. Seelye were Fro-Zona, now know as Vicks v***r rub and Wasa-Tusa- A cure all for man and beast! The home has a total of 11 bedrooms, A ball room, A bowling alley, Grand hall with a beautiful Tiffany fireplace, A music room with a beautiful Steinway Piano, A library, A sitting room, an office with all Dr. Seelyes last notes and records, A formal beautiful dining room, with two kitchens! It is a beautiful home. All the contents in the home were purchased at the Worlds Fair in 1904 in St. Louis, Missouri. All the light fixtures and wiring was done by Thomas Edison. Its a beautiful home that is still lived in and toured daily. If you are ever in Abilene Kansas it would be our pleasure to give you a tour.
