Casen's Crew is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiomyopathy, while fundraising for families affected by the disease & remembering our sweet Casen.

You may have heard of a student who had a cardiac arrest while playing on the athletic field or of a baby who died in their sleep. Chances are, pediatric cardiomyopathy was the cause. I had never heard about pediatric cardiomyopathy until October 4, 2009 – this was the day physicians at Cook Children’s Medical Center told my husband and I that our 2 month-old son, Casen, had Hypertrophic Cardiomyo

pathy. Casen was born August 31, 2009, 10 weeks early, so his lungs were underdeveloped but other than that he seemed healthy. One day his heart rate rose to over 240 beats per minute and that is when he was diagnosed. They put him on heart medication and we thought everything was fine, until one day he was in the hospital for RSV and his heart went into cardiac dysrhythmia. We lost our only child when he was only 6 months old. It is too late for him, but it is not too late for the thousands of families whose child is at risk or diagnosed with the disease. Casen was a precious little man with infectious brown eyes and an unforgettable smile. He loved being held and talked to. He was a fighter and never gave up until the end. Casen Steele Riley

🩵For those of you that don't know what Casen's Crew
is and or why we do it every year and flood your timeline with posts.....here is our story!!🩵

We lost our first born, our only child, Casen when he was only 6 months old from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. It is too late for him, but it is not too late for the thousands of families whose child is at risk or diagnosed with the disease.

We come together every year to honor our son. When we started Casen’s Crew it started as a way to keep his memory alive but has grown into something so much bigger: a day filled with love, community and purpose!!

♥️Our 16th Annual Casen’s Crew Golf Tournament at Live Oak Golf Club is only 2nd months from today! ♥️

This year will be the 16th year to host Casen's Crew fundraiser. Over the last 15 years we have raised a little over $227,300 for children's cardiomyopathy and families affected by cardiomyopathy. This year let’s see if we can get that number to $250,000?!? To do that, we are going to need everyone's help. 💥We are full on teams! We fill up earlier and earlier each year! I wish we could take all teams that want to play but unfortunately we cannot.

💥If you missed getting a spot, make sure and contact me and get on the waiting list incase a team drops out!!
