What an amazing morning with our friends from Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union and First Financial Bank!

Our volunteers spent the morning sorting and rolling hundreds of new sets of towels, sorting new sheet sets, folded and sized hundreds of shirts and sweatshirts and put more than 100 new mattresses into our storage container! It was a lot of work!

We are thankful for their willingness to come and serve, on their day off, and accomplish so much…more than our small team could do alone during a week!

Thank you, KTXS Television, for covering our Community Book Room event yesterday! It was a busy afternoon. More than 100 individuals took home 1,807 FREE books to enjoy! Of that number, 1,159 were children's books...literacy is a powerful tool for our children!

Rest is important...for many reasons. Children need rest and a good nights sleep so that they can be alert and ready to learn the next day in school. Adults need good sleep so that they are prepared for work and taking care of family needs. Our Community Bed Initiative seeks to meet the need of providing beds for those who do not have one.

Today, we were able to provide 12 beds to our partner, Christian Service Center of Abilene, and they in turn will provide them to those within our community who are in need. These are not the only beds we have been blessed to distribute this week. Yesterday, we partnered with Noah Project to provide a family with beds and with the DFPS Abilene to provide a bed for a child.

Thank you to our partners at Good360 and Sealy Mattress for generously providing 128 NEW twin mattresses to help Global Samaritan Resources continue to be able to provide beds to those in need throughout Abilene through our Community Bed Initiative!

Your donation will allow Global Samaritan Resources and our partners to help countless children Dream Big & Sleep Well!
When children are able to get a good nights sleep, they are not only more rested, but also healthier and able to be more productive in school. Together, Global Samaritan Resources, Good360 and Sealy are making a difference in Abilene!

SPECIAL THANKS TO KO JO KAI SOCIAL CLUB AT ACU...

For the past several weeks, we have been blessed to have the ladies of Ko Jo Kai, a social club at Christian University, come and volunteer with us. This week, our volunteers labeled diaper packages and prepared them to go out onto the shelves of our Non-Profit Resource Center. These diapers will benefit dozens of agencies in town who are serving and providing for some of our most vulnerable families in town.

Thank you for your service!!
