An organization to better quality of life for Hispanics in Abilene and the Big Country by providing community leadership development opportunities for Hispanics at all economic levels. Goals:

• Serve as a forum for ideas, information and special projects.
• Preserve the culture, language, food, arts, music and history of all Hispanic groups.
• Promote participation in the political process whi

le remaining non-partisan.
• Economic empowerment through education, business ownership, home ownership, and financial self-sufficiency.
• Build strong relationships based upon trust and respect with the Hispanic and non-Hispanic communities.

Are you looking for a 10 to 11-week Summer Internship (May 26-August 14, 2026). AmeriCorps Members can gain light social work skills, some nutritional experience, insights into the poverty culture and build relationship skills. Interviews are being conducted soon. You must be 17 years old and pass a federal background check. Benefits include a $3000 living allowance for the 10-weeks ($500 bi-weekly) at 26-30 hours per week and a $1565.08 education award. Craig Middle School toy drive. Students will vote to "silence" an Assistant Principal for a day. Our very own Monica Diaz is an Assistant Principal at Craig Middle School, and you know how loud she can get, but for the kids, she is willing to be silent for a day.
