At our recent Spring District Meeting we had the annual pleasure to judge all of the great submissions for the Gary Tilton Memorial Fire Prevention Poster Contest. This is always a special treat as we get to acknowledge some fantastic little artists from the surrounding area. The students that were selected as 1st,2nd, and 3rd place in each division will receive an award locally, then thier posters will travel to the SFFMA State Convention in Waco this June. There they will compete against winning posters from other Districts to vie for the state trophies and presence on the SFFMA website. Congrats to all of our winners and good luck moving forward!

Also, we would like to Congratulate Briley Snowden of Merkel for receiving the Firefighter of the Year award for the District and wish him luck as he now moves on to the state competition this June in Waco.

Thanks again to all who attended and special thanks to 2 Gingers Catering for the fantastic meal and as always thank you to the Abilene Fire Department for use of the training field for the day.
