Last week, Abilene had the honor of hosting the TCCE - Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference for the first time in more than 30 years, welcoming nearly 300 chamber professionals from communities across Texas. 🎉

The conference was a fantastic collaborative effort across all Chamber affiliates, creating memorable experiences that showcased the very best of Abilene. We kicked off the week with a Welcome Party at The Grace Museum, made possible by the generous support of Abilene Environmental Landfill/AEL Green Logistics and Ben E. Keith Beverages. Guests also had the opportunity to shop local through a special vendor market featuring the Abilene Farmers Market and local businesses.

One of the week's highlights was an unforgettable evening at 201 Mesquite, where Kirk House brought down the house with an incredible performance. The conference concluded with the TCCE Excellence Awards Banquet at D&W Underground, sponsored by First Financial Bank Texas.

We were especially proud to celebrate members of our team during the conference. Ashley DiMauro was recognized for five years of service to the chamber profession, and our own Doug Peters received the prestigious Marvin Hurley Award for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the chamber industry.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, Chamber affiliates, local businesses, and community partners who helped make the week such a success. We loved showcasing our city, sharing our story, and giving chamber leaders from across Texas a true West Texas welcome! 🤠💙

This week, Abilene had the honor of hosting the TCCE - Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference, welcoming chamber professionals from across the state to our community.

Last night, the conference concluded with the TCCE Excellence Awards Banquet, where our very own Doug Peters was presented with the prestigious TCCE Marvin Hurley Award.

The Marvin Hurley Award is presented annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the Chamber of Commerce profession in Texas and across the nation. Recipients are recognized for their service to their chamber and community, as well as their accomplishments in areas such as advocacy, organizational development, program innovation, and leadership.

As a team, we simply want to say how incredibly proud we are of Doug and how grateful we are to call him our leader. His dedication to the Abilene community, our members, and the chamber industry is unmatched, and this recognition is truly well deserved.
