Proverbs 31:26 — "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."

Surely, she does not always speak with wisdom. I wonder what she was like when she was mad, or her feelings were hurt. Maybe when she argued with her husband, her words were not always wise.

Perhaps, though, I am looking for excuses for my own tongue. Or it could be that this verse is not about her reactions to normal human irritation.

I imagine she speaks with wisdom as she is helping to guide another woman in how to be better today. Or maybe it is when she is teaching younger women in the community how to be a good wife. Possibly when she is simply helping a friend through a tough situation.

I have a lot of women in my life. None of us sound consistently wise when we are talking about our own struggles. However, if you need one of them to listen to and give you feedback, it is clothed in wisdom.

I associate with women who pray and walk with God. We sharpen each other. We think about self-improvement and strive for that every day.

I seek wisdom through the Word and relationship with God. That allows me to be for the people in my life what I need them to be in mine. I want people in my life who are wise and challenge me to do better and be better. I think that is the kind of wisdom the Proverbs 31 woman has.

Do you speak with wisdom today? Do you know where it comes from? Do you desire it from others in your life?

It’s easy to get caught up in the noise of life and feel like we’re on our own, but His Holy Spirit is constantly near. He is right beside you, ready to hold your hand and walk through every moment with you.

John 11:35 — "Jesus wept."

It is easy to forget that Jesus walked the earth just like we do. While He was God, He was also man. He had human relationships and human emotions.

When Lazarus died, regardless of the fact that Jesus was going to bring him back, He was weeping with the family. It is so sweet that in their moments of grief and pain, Jesus was there to be a friend.

I imagine when He talked to Mary and Martha, He placed a comforting hand on their shoulder. Perhaps as they stood outside the tomb weeping, He held their hands or held them in His arms. Can you imagine being held in the arms of the Savior as you grieve?

It does not need to be grief. Maybe you are going through something difficult, or perhaps this is a time of deep breakthrough in your life. The breath that brought Lazarus from the tomb breathes life inside of you. He is calling you out of where you are and inviting you into something completely new.

Jesus is constantly near to you. He walks every step with you, and His precious Holy Spirit resides inside your spirit. I know we do not always feel Him—especially when we fear for our children, lose a loved one, or feel stumped by life’s decisions. It is easy to get caught up in the clamor of the world.

He is here, though. He is waiting for you to go to Him, hit your knees, and ask Him to join you in this season. He wants to hold your hand and cradle you as you weep, mourn, and grow. He desires for you to know that you are not alone.

Find time to release yourself to the Holy Spirit. Let the tears flow, no matter the reason. Allow whatever fear, grief, anger, or anticipation you are holding onto to be released into the care and will of God.

Jesus is right there beside you. He is calling a newness to your life in unimaginable ways. Can you feel Him with you?

James 15:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

Healing very rarely looks how I think it should. It is easy to get stuck believing that healing is going from being sick to not being sick. That puts God's miracle of healing into a very small box. The people in my life prayed for my healing for a very long time. When that healing happened, none of those people were near me. There was not a laying on of hands. There was no speaking over me in tongues.

I was alone and Jesus found me. However, I firmly believe those years of prayers helped usher Christ into my life. I was blind, but now I clearly see, though I still wear glasses. I could not hear, but I clearly knew Holy Spirit was whispering in my ear. I was dead, but Jesus breathed life into my lungs and changed my heart of stone into flesh. I was an alcoholic, but the Living Water quenched my thirst. I was an addict, but my love of dope was replaced by the Lover of my soul. Today I have a new battle to face. Though I know that God can heal me physically, I will praise Him if He doesn’t because spiritually, I am healed, whole and restored already.

Sometimes we pray for a physical healing and are confused when that person does not seem to get better. We only see the outside though. Healing is deeper than the physical body. Healing is meant to change the hungers of the spirit to crave the Bread of Life and the Living Water.

Are you praying for someone to be healed today? I encourage you to climb out of the box. Broaden your view on what healing completely is. Know that the healed body is only a bonus to a healed heart and spirit.
