🐾💕 FOSTER FRIDAY SPOTLIGHT: LEONA! 💕

Sometimes, all a dog needs is a little break from the shelter to show us who she really is. Meet Leona, aka Lele! 🥹❤️

Leona was becoming increasingly nervous at The PARC, so we reached out to a foster to give her a chance to decompress. And WOW, what a difference a little comfort can make!

Her foster reports that Lele is potty trained with a doggy door (zero accidents!), doing well with kennel training, and getting more comfortable every day!

Lele is a certified Velcro dog who loves cuddles, follows her favorite humans everywhere, and even sunbathes by the window so she can soak up the sunshine while staying close to her people. ☀️

And there's more! This 1-year-old Terrier sweetheart is friendly with big dogs, little dogs, AND cats. Just a heads-up to the kitties: Lele may try to groom you! 😂

She's even approached her foster's 21-year-old nephew and 10-year-old daughter for pets, showing us that the shy girl we saw in her kennel has a much more affectionate side once she feels safe.

This is why fostering matters. A little time outside the shelter can reveal the wonderful personality waiting underneath all those nerves.

A huge THANK YOU to Lele's foster for helping her blossom! ❤️ Now, we're looking for a patient, loving forever family who will give this cuddly girl the chance she deserves.

✨ Meet Harry! ✨

Harry came to us from another organization in ROUGH shape, and this sweet boy deserves a soft place to land. ❤️

At about 4 years old, Harry has perfected the art of enjoying the simple things in life: curling up in your lap, watching the world go by through a window, and soaking up some love while being brushed. He’s litter box trained and ready to find someone who will cherish him just as he is.

In the interest of full transparency, Harry only has a couple of teeth left, so he’ll need to eat wet food exclusively. He’ll also need some additional medical care after adoption, and we want to make sure his future family knows that going in.

Harry has already been through a lot. Now, he deserves a home where he can relax, feel safe, and be loved through whatever comes next. Could that be with you?

Meet Fiddle! 🐾💛

Fiddle is about 7 months old, full of puppy energy, and ready to wiggle his way straight into your heart!

This happy boy is everything people LOVE about puppies. He’s playful, fun-loving, great with other dogs, and always ready to make the most of every moment. And if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that Fiddle’s tail will be wagging the entire time! 🐶

He’s already neutered and up to date on all his vaccines, so he’s ready to head home and start his next big adventure.

But here’s the thing… Fiddle is the LAST of his litter still waiting for a family. 🥺 While his siblings have found their next chapters, Fiddle is still here at The PARC, hoping someone will see him and decide he’s the one.

He has so much love, laughter, and puppy silliness to bring to a home. He just needs someone to give him that chance!

Meet Jane! 🐾

Jane is just a 5-month-old brindle Black Mouth Cur mix with a gentle heart, a sweet soul, and a little bit of shyness.

Right now, The PARC can be a pretty scary place for a puppy like Jane. She’s still figuring out the world, and she just needs someone willing to give her a little time to feel safe and warm up. Once she does, we know she’ll show you just how much love she has to give. ❤️

Jane is already spayed and ready to start growing into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. She’s medium-sized and still has SO much puppyhood ahead of her — which means plenty of time for bonding, learning, training, adventures, and making a lifetime of memories together.

She doesn’t need to be a perfect, confident puppy right away. She just needs someone who will give her the chance to become one.

Jane is just a baby, and she’s waiting for her chance at a happily ever after. We hope her forever family finds her soon.

We are completely blown away by the Wylie Hight School Art 2 students! 🎨🐾

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of receiving some AMAZING artwork featuring several of our adoptable cats and dogs, and our staff has been over the moon ever since! 🥹😭

The students created these incredible portraits using the Fauvism style of painting, an art movement made famous by artists like Henri Matisse. And WOW…these students absolutely knocked it out of the park. 🤯 The colors, creativity, and personality they captured in each animal have had us stopping to admire them over and over again!

Even better, these beautiful portraits have a special purpose. ❤️

The painting of each animal will eventually go home with that pet's adopter as a very special keepsake. Until then, the artwork will be proudly displayed around The PARC, helping our visitors get to know some of the amazing animals still waiting for their forever homes.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of the younger generation and the way these students chose to use their creativity to help animals in their community. Teaching young people about animal welfare, compassion, responsibility, and the importance of giving animals a second chance can help shape the future of animal welfare for years to come.

Who knows? Maybe some of these talented artists will grow up to be lifelong advocates for animals. We sure hope so! 🤞🏻

Meet Bebe and Cody — a pair of best friends who have spent more than 10 years side by side. 🐾❤️

These two sweet seniors have been through life together, and after all this time, they’re hoping their next chapter can be together, too.

Bebe and Cody’s mama recently had to move into an assisted living facility, and sadly, they weren’t able to go with her. So now, at about 11 years old, these two are looking for a new family who will give them the love, comfort, and security they deserve for the rest of their years.

And let us tell you… they are pretty wonderful. 🥹

Both Bebe and Cody are:
🐾 Already altered
🐾 Up to date on vaccines
🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Kennel trained
🐾 Great with kids
🐾 Previously interacted well with other dogs

Bebe is hard of hearing, so he relies on Cody for a little extra guidance and reassurance. After more than a decade together, these two have their own special bond, and we would love nothing more than to see them continue life side by side.

They’ve already lost the home they knew. We’re hoping we can help them find a new one where they don’t have to lose each other, too.

If you have room in your heart and home for two very special senior dogs, please stop by The PARC and ask to meet Bebe and Cody.

We’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with them just as quickly as we did. ❤️

✨ A long time ago, in a shelter not so far away… ✨

There lived a sweet little princess waiting for her forever galaxy.
Meet Princess Leia! ⭐️

Leia has been with us since August, and this little princess is MORE than ready to leave the shelter and find her happily ever after.

She recently went on a Doggy Day Out and absolutely loved her adventure! Her volunteer had no trouble getting her in or out of the car, she was well-behaved for the ride, and she had a blast running the trail. She was also very easy to control on leash — clearly this princess knows how to travel in style.

Leia is about 3 years old, already spayed, up to date on vaccines, kennel trained, and potty trained. She’s wonderful with kids and is interested in other dogs, but she can be a little nervous around higher-energy dogs or dogs who get too much in her face. She wants to play, she just hasn’t quite figured out how yet — sometimes she gets a little scared and needs some time to feel comfortable.

Shelter life can be stressful for this sweet girl, but once she feels safe, her personality really shines. She loves showing affection to her people and does the cutest little tippy taps when she gets excited. 🥹

Princess Leia doesn’t need a galaxy far, far away. She just needs a family willing to give her a little patience, a little reassurance, and a whole lot of love.
